Browse Forums Building A New House Re: DA refused, what to do next? 2Feb 21, 2019 4:46 pm Gsl Our builder submitted the DA for our first home in November and recently informed us that it refused as the plan not accordance with the building envelop of our land. Now they are asking us to pay to get the approval from a new certifier for the same plan. They claim that it’s our responsibility to mention and provide building envelop at the planing stage. This is our first home and we had no idea about the building envelop until this issue arises. Has anyone gone through a similar experience? We are afraid that without any amendments will it be possible to get the approval for a rejected plan? Thanks! Which state are you in? Each state has their own rules. In nsw we have two building approval options. 1. DA and the council does the approval. It can add flexibility in some ways but generally takes longer and more people (neighbours get a say) 2. CDC - which is faster less hassle but requires your development to tick off all the required boxes. Your builder should know if cdc approval is possible. This building process happens in NSW. Our builder is going through the cdc. Our building contract includes the approval fee though now they claim a variation. Thanks Hi All, see above image.
