But I read someone on this forum M gave him free epoxy flooring since the garage slab was damaged badly. I read in a Porter Davis blog where the author shows her garage slab, porch and alfresco (no tiled) have concrete topping done. She use the work concrete topping. Basically to level it and also make it nicer due to the scratches and damages on the floor during construction. So was wondering if this is standard for the volume builders. https://forsyth35.com/2019/01/04/walk-a ... #more-1763 Somewhere in the middle she mention her garage etc slab were topped. Re: Building with Metricon 8264Jan 21, 2019 4:57 pm Drew01 excited_builders We were just informed we cant get OC without the lattice instslled on top of the neighbour's fence even though we got a no objection from them Did anyone have this issue, do u have any contacts to do this and did anyone attempt this themselves? Any assistance on contacts of anyone that you used and approx how much it cost will be very helpful. Thanks in advance Our fencer did ours as part of the fence... Cost $70/m including an extra fence rail and extra long posts... Nice, bullnose lattice https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?url=ht ... are_type=t Re: Building with Metricon 8265Jan 21, 2019 6:32 pm MyFirst Hi, Those who completed building with Metricon recently, will M do concrete topping on your garage slab as per standard? Thanks If you get a choice I would say a 3 layer epoxy with clear coat on top FAR FAR exceeds a concrete topping. Easier to clean and maintain having had 4 epoxy floors and now having a concrete topped floor which is a pain to clean/sweep (rough finish floor) ORLANDO 28 - SYDNEY Re: Building with Metricon 8266Jan 22, 2019 8:25 am Hi all we just got a quote for 30k for exposed aggregate for 150 squares and normal concrete for another 150 squares as we are also putting a slab for our entertainment area instead of decking. It is coming to $110 per sqm for exposed agg. And $75 per sq m for normal Does anyone know how much for exposed aggregate per sq m ? And does anyone have any contracts to share for more quotes? https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?url=ht ... are_type=t Re: Building with Metricon 8267Jan 22, 2019 8:35 am excited_builders Hi all we just got a quote for 30k for exposed aggregate for 150 squares and normal concrete for another 150 squares as we are also putting a slab for our entertainment area instead of decking. He didn't think M's price was too bad considering their usual markups. We are getting M to do our exposed agg driveway - so we can get it done at time of building, and also include it in the house price/mortgage, rather than finding money for it after. No such luck for me. My custom builder charges me 190 m2 for driveway . As if he wants me to go somewhere else for the driveway during admin stage. Was so angry. What are M charging you for just the driveway? $8,320 for 52m2 ($160/m2) for exposed aggregate driveway by M. Sorry, i must have given the wrong figure in my last post. This was the price we were given by M, and our concreter was cheaper - he was $120/m2 for exposed aggregate. The $80/m2 I mentioned above from my concreter was for regular concrete. Re: Building with Metricon 8272Jan 22, 2019 9:29 am thanks everyone for posting this valuable information. M is quoting us the same price. we might get driveway done with M and rest after handover as well. is there any cost difference between concrete for driveway vs concrete for paths around the house? i would have thought its would be all the same Re: Building with Metricon 8273Jan 22, 2019 9:31 am madj-m thanks everyone for posting this valuable information. Then we will tile portico and outdoor room. I think concrete for driveway would be more expensive than regular paths, as it needs to be thicker with more rio to support the weight of cars. Paths don't need this so much. Re: Building with Metricon 8274Jan 22, 2019 9:34 am shokel1975 madj-m thanks everyone for posting this valuable information. Yes, getting that done, but they only do the concrete step right at the front door, so we will have the concrete extended out the font of the portico beyond the piers after handover, and then tile over that. Anyone can share the experience. Thanks. I am thinking if it is worth adding niche for every shower.
