I got extra cables ran (for induction and hot water heater) and have installed solar. Have not made the switch yet but im ready Re: No reason for new homes to include gas 3Nov 28, 2018 1:49 pm I have solar and gas also, find that in a cold climate with not much sun around in winter and also not been home in the much shorter winter daytime, that my solar is brilliant in summer, even autumn, but much less effective in winter, I find six star brevis gas heating for a 50 square house, which we heat about 25_30 squares, run heater about 3 hours a day which is enough to heat the house till bedtimes, running costs of 360 a quarter. I cook with induction but with 4 kids I welcome the instant gas hot water. I tend to agree with the ATA but only time will tell. I hope to end up with a 7kw PV system but am also adding a pool into the mix. Fortunately I have single tariff peak, and separate off peak circuit also for pool pump and washing machine. Supply charges for peak and off peak, plus gas and fresh plus recycled water will add up each day. Waiting for the interest rates to go down is also waiting for the building prices to go up, you will likely lose. Perhaps you can get the builder to lock up stage, but… 4 3591 Hi there!
