And my Landscaping PA was deleted and driveway amount added but I should still get a credit for the $5,500 Landscaping Voucher right? Does that make sense? It's so hard to reconcile. It made me cross eyed! we received it yesterday and already signed!no errors~ just make everything finish as soon as possible! Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 13724Dec 18, 2018 4:05 pm doosra We found wisdom prices not so bad for pool. For pool and pool equipment including electric heating, the cost came to about 54k. Wisdom had 5.5k landscape voucher so it came to probably just under 50k. I got a quote from blue haven and they were more expensive. I would not use them to do anything else as you'll find concreting and other landscape works like tiling much cheaper elsewhere. If u do it after and have no access then it will cost maybe another 9k or so on top for crane. stevezau Hi All, We are comparing quotes with Wisdom Pools vs others and it seems like all the others are coming in 20kish cheaper for an equal pool + equipment. I'm struggling to justify Wisdom's costs. I've asked them to help me justify it but thought i'd ask here for other people experience? We have a fibreglass pool, Symphony 7 by Narellan pools. In total it came to $45k including council approval, magnapool system, energy efficient pump, lighting, 1.2m concrete and travertine along 3 sides and 400mm on the fence side, waterfall feature and frameless glass fencing to 2 sides. They did everything apart from the fencing which we DIY’d. I would def outsource the pool but make sure they’re a reputable company... I'm struggling to justify Wisdom's costs. I've asked them to help me justify it but thought i'd ask here for other people experience? From what I have seen, Wisdom charges an exhorbitant premium for landscaping and pools. I understand some people value being able to move into a fully completed home, but at these prices it doesn't seem worth it at all. By the way have you considered putting in a fibreglass pool? They are easier to maintain than concrete and should cost less to install. Also I hear they keep the water a bit warmer than concrete. Would have to disagree on that one.The prices are certainly not that bad. Wisdom do charge a premium for a turn key product as you would expect them to but line their pool and landscaping prices up against mid tier pool builders or landscapes and they are pretty much the same. Absolutely you will get cheaper through places like Narellan Pools or Blue haven and that's great there is nothing wrong with them if thats what you want I would say Wisdom are also probably priced that way so not everyone does their landscaping through them. I don't they they have the capacity to be looking at small jobs here and there for every single build. You will find its a service they offer the those you are looking for a premium product and are happy to pay so they don't have to deal with the alternative of getting it done themselves afterwards This was actually one of the reason I chose Wisdom. I only have one throat to choke if there is an issue. Manhattan52, I don't quite understand the "small job" comment. From my discussions with Wisdom they are trying to build out their landscaping business not just accept large jobs. Anyway, our total house build plus our landscaping is significant. Not a small job. Of course a turnkey and 1 throat to choke is something we would prefer, we are even happy to pay a premium for it but as a consumer it's my duty to validate their prices. For an apples to apples pool Wisdom are roughly 30% more expensive compared to 4 other pool builders. Their landscaping was similar (ish). In a way, I'm actually more worried about Wisdom Pools quality as they have not being around for that long compared to the other reputable pool builders where their core business is to just build pools. For me 5-10% premium for the convenience is valid, 30% is not ok. I'm talking with them now to make sure there was not a mistake on my quote which is entirely possible. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 13729Dec 18, 2018 4:44 pm Our shape is a little more complicated but is smaller. Did you upgrade to the top of the line filters, heater system etc? Was $54? I was saying in general I can’t see them wanting to do small jobs for every single build as simply I can’t see them having the manpower in order to do that. Absolutely you should validate their prices, I have pushed back several times in regards to landscaping to seek clarification. Having built 6 pools in the last 10 years I don’t think their quotes are as crazy as some think. I also think its extremely unfair to say that bluehaven and narellan are comparable. Narellan build high quality pools, bluehaven on the other hand.... I think Wisdom landscapes charge a premium as they have a captive audience for people who dont have enough confidence to project manage their own jobs. Just because you have only one throat to strangle doesn't mean its going to be easy to strangle! I also find it so condescending when people think they are so much better cause they have spend $80-100k on a concrete pool when you can get a high quality fibreglass pool for 60% of the cost. Wait till your new concrete pool starts leaching and cracking then see who made the smarter decision! Our prices are competitive, especially once you factor in timeframes (we build the pool within the house build time) and site costs (we coordinate the design of the house and pool together). If you would like a true apples for apples comparison, please PM me and I will put you in contact with our Head of Pools & Landscaping.
