Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Dec 13, 2018 9:35 pm Hi, We're looking to reno a space which is currently a bathroom to create a double walk-in wardrobe. The plan is to create two separate wardrobe spaces facing each other with a corridor down the middle. Are there any regulations about the minimum width required for this corridor, (9 ft ceilings) in Victoria? Can anyone recommend the minimum functional width they have employed to success? Can anyone comment on a build they have done where the gap created was too small, and what that dimension would need to be? What depth would be recommended? Currently the width of the whole space is 1.6m, and with two 450mm deep wardrobes, this would leave a 700mm corridor down the middle. Planning on shelves rather than drawers. The length of the walk-in wardrobe would be 1.8 - 2.1 m long, depending on chosen supplier. It seems, at least on the surface, that we are pushing the limit of the minimum width, but we have marked this space out on the floor with masking tape and are happy with the space it would create. Yeh ideally that would have been good, but have progressed too far now. Hoping some well placed internal walls fixed up into the battens will provide some… 2 5416 |
