Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Garage on the boundary 6Dec 04, 2018 2:43 pm I'm building with Aston Homes in Victoria. So I was told the fence will be removed. There will be and waterproofing applied on that side of the slab. I think there will be a small gap between the garage wall and the neighbour's side pavement. Builder can't do anything on the neighbour's side. Probably something to do after handover as I am afraid of water pooling or seeping in that gap Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Garage on the boundary 7Dec 09, 2018 10:29 pm Just keep your gap clean of debris and weeds , rocks etc. We got an annoying 200mm gap and the neighbours have a fence, we just asked them to let our builder remove palings as required to build the wall, eaves, render etc Our neighbours won't remove the fence so we just will keep it clean so any water flows out to the street. Don't put rocks in there as they will block the flow and create turbulence, pooling etc I panicked as well, I called a couple of engineers and asked my building inspector, they said it won't be a problem as the fall ultimately is towards the street. Does it feel driving into the garage or make the house feel odd from the street? Re: Garage on the boundary 9Dec 10, 2018 1:32 pm Our neighbours house is build to boundary and they started building the day we moved in (4 months ago). We left that side of the house where their garage is untouched until they were finished on that side. It is now at the stage where we can finish the side fence to the back of their garage and side path. thanks Chippy, i hope they have applied sealer but i am doubt to be honest, so i am gonna do this job after handover. 8 16270 You should be able to encase the sewer but you will need it designed and approved and access to lot 580 to do the work 2 17163 In WA zero lot is actually zero lot. We build 10mm in from the boundary. My house and my neighbours house have garages that sit only 20mm apart. When I had our roof done… 3 7067 |
