Re: Window height in upper level -looks like stuffed up 3Nov 15, 2018 6:59 am From observation, it seems to me as though there's been a move towards fitting bedroom windows quite high, so that neighbouring houses at the same height can't see into the bedroom. A lot of people really only use a bedroom for sleeping & getting changed & not much else, so the ability to see the landscape through the window when in bed is irrelevant compared to the lack of a need to close the blinds (if you have blinds - we haven't fitted any to the spare bedroom - only the birds & people in 747's with binoculars can see in). HOWEVER that doesn't mean you shouldn't get what you want & thought you were paying for, indeed talk to the builder ASAP. But some of my bedroom windows are quite high as well (and some are even opaque) due to reg requirements for overlooking. The framer told that the top portion to the window (above window) it would around 300mm. So it works that window would be 1250mm AFL as the height of the window is 1000mm. It looks too high visually, however, considering the measurements it should not be too high? Re: Window height in upper level -looks like stuffed up 9Nov 15, 2018 3:32 pm Clean Thanks gillybean. feels better now. My personal opinion is that there’s way too much emphasis put on bedrooms having lots of natural light. Every lifestyle show on tv it seems has people going into bedrooms and gushing over “look how much natural light is in the bedroom”. I just want to shake them at times and say you do realise they’re primarily for sleeping in during the night time, yeah? 😂 Thank you. Do I use timber floorboards for stairs or do people use timber treads? Or is both the same? 6 7310 2 833 No the fireplace doesn’t work. It’s been enclosed. I’m not sure what was removed, as it was done quite some time ago - well before what I can see with photos online… 2 11589 |
