The wait is draining! Strap yourself in and have some good wine chilled at all times! Re: Gas bottle prices - Brisbane. How much do you pay? 43Nov 11, 2018 8:13 am Tajana Sandra i can so see you staying up until 3am with a vision board of all your ideas. (Glass of wine or a valium will do you wonders lol). YASSSSS let me know Grant, i think it looks silly. Maybe i can even just get shutters for the top front of the house windows (the extra 3) as the bottoms ones look way too white compared to the blinds. So the grass: My grass is not laid to the curb because the landscapers ran out of grass hahah, but will be finished on Wednesday to the curb. The reason the others have laid it only to the wooden stick is because everything after that point is councils responsibility. So council is meant to do that. I have to lay my own, because the grass i am laying is Sir Walter also it will look silly as they only lay a certain grass (i can find out for you what its called, if you like - i forgot.) Broad leaf or seems? I am sorry i have no idea what that means? hahaha I think the fact I don't drink makes it worse! Brain is too alert at all hours! I think the shutters look great. The blinds are subtle as they barely stand out. You can get away with leaving as is, but I'm about symmetry and for me I prefer it to be consistent at the front. If you didn't have the front balcony I would say the difference would stand out more, but as it breaks up the front I didn't notice the two different windrow treatments. Mine would be more obvious as I don't have anything to break up the front. I'm off to West elm today to find some rugs. (I think my phone is onto something as it suggested it should be drugs not rugs... Hmm) Re: Gas bottle prices - Brisbane. I think you are right, changing the 3 windows Is the right way to go. Re: Gas bottle prices - Brisbane. How much do you pay? 45Nov 11, 2018 4:45 pm GrantFC Tajana, this house has both of us up till weird hours and early mornings planning one or another thing. We drove past yesterday and had a good look, I think the shutters looks amazing and creates such a defined look from the outside. But I'm just a bloke so Sandra will reply with her thoughts he he he. Yeah when they put the grass half way it looks silly, and because we want a good hardy grass we have to lay it all the way.. I think there should be some compensation, but not going to happen I know. I don't remember the grass name they use either but don't like it weeds push thru to easy. Has your landscaping guy done reticulation or is he planning for future installation. There is a guy in Wakerley that has the most amazing lawn and said his biggest hero was retic and a little urea nitrate fertilizer.. I use it at the rental and it thrives.. Down side is cutting it often.. Have a mate that does lawns, might start using him for a midweek cut he he he. No he hasn’t , well I didn’t ask . But moving the 2 damn sprinklers around is such a pain and should definitely be something to look into. Is it too late to do it after the lawn is put in? Ok will get some fertilizer , knowing my luck all the grass will die within a month. i should have done the fake grass hahahah Re: Gas bottle prices - Brisbane. How much do you pay? 46Nov 11, 2018 7:33 pm He he, you can add it in, just need to lift the grass where you plan to run the pop up sprinklers to, the grass not settled so good time now if you plan to do so. You can go with the basic timer option or more specific, install the same but how you operate it changes a little. Not sure what you were advised on watering, I was told 3 times a day first week, 2 times a day second week then third week once a day then normal schedule.. That is why timer option the way to go and full cover with more sprinklers. Be sure when you put the fertiliser you water it in and do it late afternoon.. So it doesn't burn the grass, it dissolves easy so doesn't take too much.. NO... FAKE GRASS you will spend all day with vacuum then instead of watering he he Re: Gas bottle prices - Brisbane. I’ve just been watering when I get a chance, it’s difficult as I work a lot. How long should you water it for ? I keep getting told all different things . Re: Gas bottle prices - Brisbane. How much do you pay? 48Nov 11, 2018 9:42 pm Whaaa... As far as I can tell you need about 15-25 mins depending on flow and coverage. First three weeks critical and being so warm we need the extra water.. Also don't water late night as wet leaves can lead to issues ppl say, don't know too much but early morn best once on normal schedule. Should get time to dry once settled. Your yard seems easy to plan retic as not to worry about shed or pool area.. Check the flow first by running tap full for 10 seconds, measure that times by 6 and gives you litres per min, give bunnings the info and yard dimensions and they can plan and recommend pop up sprinklers then you can get it installed, or ask the landscaper. I'm the DIY person so I will be doing it all.. Not sure yet if I'll swear allot will wait and see. Re: Gas bottle prices - Brisbane. How much do you pay? 49Nov 12, 2018 12:51 pm Yeah 3 times a day is going to be a bit of an issue lol. I can do full area once a day and half the second time around, unless i can water through the night. I have a feeling i should have concreted everything haha. My last place at Wakerley i had to put new lawn in prior to selling the house but it was a really cheap lawn so it wasnt much of an issue, i didnt kill it. No wonder you and Paul get along so we, i dont know which one is more organised. Another question, i want the paint the side fence to the right and the side door to the left of the house. So the ones you can see from the street, (not the backyard ones) White. Can i just go and get some outdoor white paint or do i have to put prior on it prior as its wood? Any ideas? Did you guys find the perfect rug yesterday? Re: Gas bottle prices - Brisbane. How much do you pay? 50Nov 12, 2018 3:13 pm Hi Tajana, you have options where you can get a time and as long as you have a sprinkler that will cover the back yard area you can run a house and forget about it and do the same for the front.. There are easy solutions and the times you can use when you do change to retic.. Kinda like a above ground retic you can say. On the wood I would put a sealed first as that will help when applying the white paint as the wood won't absorb so much then you get a better cover too. I think we just like doing it ourselves as then we know what was done and can only blame ourselves for any issues or mistakes.. Hate paying ppl to do what I know I can do.. We did see some nice ones but had not settled on one as yet.. Re: Gas bottle prices - Brisbane. That sounds fantastic , but until then I will be walking around and moving the sprinkler 100 times like a spazz, and you and Sandra can relax and laugh while your sprinkler waters your thick green grass perfectly hahaha. IF you guys know how to do it , go for it!!!!! I love doing my own stuff , the only problem is that I mess it up. Omg yesterday I put a curtain rod up as in screwed it in and hung my curtains all by my self , I’m such a legend . Actually I did drill 2 unnecessary holes but will patch it up. I will post a photo of my hard work. Have you looked at rugs from rug collection. https://www.therugcollection.com.au/pro ... gory/rugs/ I purchased the “Connection” medium sized rug a while ago and it’s been pretty good. Some of the prices are ridiculous though . If you like anything, Harvey Norman stocks some of the brands and you can ask them if they can order them for you and ask for a better price + no delivery fee as you can pick it up. How much do you pay? 52Nov 12, 2018 10:42 pm Before we get to that stage let's gets thru the digging trenches, levelling back yard with top soil and moving 5tons of grass.. You will be relaxing on your verandah watching us slog away... It will be a hoot I tell you. We still have to decide on a water feature and I need to plumb that and all that goes with that, front decking on the path way with lighting, veggie garden.. Just the though of our to do list.. Sandra will have a look no doubt at the carpets, she is a beast at finding things and getting her price, I feel bad that I can't negotiate the way she can, my little star.. Job well done on your rails, they straight and still up.. Few extra holes, im sure we will have some finding studs along the way, touch up paint and putty.. Our friend. Re: Gas bottle prices - Brisbane. How much do you pay? 53Nov 13, 2018 10:24 am That will look so pretty!!! The whole neighbourhood will be walking past peeking at your house and pretending theyre just exercising hahah. Water feature - very fancy shmancy guys - that will be so pretty. I tried to peek at that Gorgeous house, with the glass balcony, few houses from me. The people are moving in now so cant peek anymore but i cant wait to see what they do also. I should have just waited until you all finished and stolen all your ideas. Your little star is Gorgeous and very funny, you guys are a great team. I should have borrowed her and taken her shopping with me, could have saved my self a fortune. Never too late .... lol Re: Gas bottle prices - Brisbane. How much do you pay? 54Nov 13, 2018 7:35 pm He he, ive seen a few ppl during the build stop and look, im sure all of us have done so at some point.. Really like the look at the three trees, and will add that character to your house, im just putting a hedge in the planter pot that's in the post box, I hate hedging as at current rental I have 3 huge ones and 5 smaller and I'm over the whole thing.. The pool will have pots so easy to change and move. We can steal ideas as time goes on.. You can borrow my little star anytime he he, she is a blast to go shopping with.. The benefit is you can tender the project out… 9 20425 |
