Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 06, 2018 10:48 pm Hi, Requesting your advice 1. The facade width increased from the original plan which resulted in a small windows ( highlighted in Red) , basically its a storage area in the garage. Does this look ugly or should i go for full window ? Sale consultant's reason for small window is to hide things in the store room ? 2. Does the Arch design in the porch look odd and old design ? Thinking to go with rectangular design instead of arch ? 3. Have anyone got these type of wide windows ? Fixed in the middle and awning on the sides ? Does it look good ? But again; that's just my opinion. There's nothing wrong with the appearance of those style of windows (the one in the linen area off the side of the garage looks a little unusual for the front of a house, but it doesn't offend me) … where do you live though? Those windows don't allow much airflow, if you're at all wanting to catch cool breezes they're not much good for that. Re: Need advice re Facade. 5Nov 07, 2018 10:36 am I am not a fan of the arch. I would square it off but raise it higher so not blocking any of the door. We have an awning window and a sliding window in our bedroom. The awning window doesn't let much air in. Sliders are better for that. We have a large window in our house and they actually slide from the middle to both sides. Works great for breeze. The small window in your storage area would work really well in that area as it would maximise space. I would probably just do some taller landscaping out the front of it. Re: Need advice re Facade. 6Nov 07, 2018 12:15 pm I’d square off the arch and lower the front door so the front doors height matches the top of the windows. The small window I’d delete and have a shrub/tree there (some form of landscaping anyway). As someone else said, only my opinion and what I’d do, hopefully no one offended. Thank you @. Tried to play with the facade models but the exact colour is not matching up. 2 3269 Levelling compound Ardit is the best but buy a bag of sand and make sand dam to protect your wood floor 2 15255 XCEM Alpha flooring seems to relatively new and I could not found any reviews. Have you or someone you know have used it and would recommend over other subfloor options?… 2 7593 |
