I love their design they are unique. Specially the facades. Which house did you build? I agree every volume builders have their problems This forum has slowed down heaps. It can get very quiet. viewtopic.php?t=86597 Re: KDR + Building Urban Edge Andu 43 9Nov 09, 2018 1:46 pm Guess it's a reflective time for all contemplating a building start. The fundamentals of real estate economics - and, hence decision making - are really shifting so rapidly. So, a bit quiet here? Glad to see your happy with the bricks. Heard so many people have problems with brick layers. viewtopic.php?t=86597 Re: KDR + Building Urban Edge Andu 43 13Nov 13, 2018 8:42 am It's the Andu 43, but we have made some changes - enlarged font lounge and alfresco - change theatre to guest bedroom + ensuite - make upstairs bedrooms bigger and rumpus smaller - some other changes and updates like higher ceilings, extra windows etc etc etc Having seen the house now, we are kind of wishing we had made the sliding doors at the back bigger, but oh well, too late now As you say I was worried about the bricks, as many people seem to have had problem. But I will reserve judgement as they have only done 1 day, so a long way to go. The only sticking point we have so far is the HVAC flex ducting, which I think is very poorly installed - several sharp bends and squashed ducts. The installer says it is fine. I have Darbecca doing pre-plaster inspection on Tuesday so they can be the judge Re: KDR + Building Urban Edge Andu 43 14Nov 13, 2018 3:22 pm brokenstick It's the Andu 43, but we have made some changes - enlarged font lounge and alfresco - change theatre to guest bedroom + ensuite - make upstairs bedrooms bigger and rumpus smaller - some other changes and updates like higher ceilings, extra windows etc etc etc Having seen the house now, we are kind of wishing we had made the sliding doors at the back bigger, but oh well, too late now As you say I was worried about the bricks, as many people seem to have had problem. I felt that way about my windows. I wish I would have got the 300 series. But Metricon never explained it. I only learnt about it from this forum. Bit annoyed at that one. I think the type of widows and doors makes such a difference to the look of a home. Are you happy with your build so far? viewtopic.php?t=86597 Re: KDR + Building Urban Edge Andu 43 15Nov 14, 2018 9:00 am Overall we are pretty happy with the way everything has gone through the whole process, and the build so far. There have been a few issues, but they have been dealt with. They have also responded well to the Darbecca reports. I have gone in with the attitude that things won't be 100% with a volume builder, and also that in general they want to do what is good and easy for them, not necessarily for me.... so I am very involved in the detail. I visit the site just about every day - live just around the corner fortunately and pass on my way home from work. In retrospect we should have pushed a bit harder for some for the extra changes we wanted - they didn't say they couldn't do them, but were just taking ages to get back so we left it as we just wanted to move on Re: KDR + Building Urban Edge Andu 43 16Nov 14, 2018 9:59 am brokenstick Overall we are pretty happy with the way everything has gone through the whole process, and the build so far. I guess you get that with every builder. But you sound overall happy with them. Can’t wait to see my daughters build go up. viewtopic.php?t=86597 Re: KDR + Building Urban Edge Andu 43 17Nov 14, 2018 12:15 pm Doulton777 brokenstick Overall we are pretty happy with the way everything has gone through the whole process, and the build so far. I am looking for feedback on them from others who have built with them. 0 13444 |
