Looks nice! How much room do you need to put a clothesline there?
Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 12904Oct 07, 2018 8:49 pm Area where clothes line & artificial grass is is 1.6m. Laundry is on that side of the house hence reason Mrs wanted clothes line there. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 12905Oct 07, 2018 8:55 pm doosra I really like the feature it adds to my entry. We have a niche on the side as well and I think it looks really good and then with the bulkhead in the kitchen, they all compliment each other M4bath On another note, we have been staring at our entry/foyer for a night and couldn’t conclude whether we wanted to keep coffered ceiling and detail. While i understand it gives it some feature feel but does it take it away from the 2.7m height ceiling? The entry is 1690mm for most part of it. Ours is 300mm coffered ceiling with the detail that goes almost from front door down to the garage / laundry entrance. What are your thoughts of keeping them or changing them? What are your plans for decoration in the detail section? Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Looking awesome, Doosra! We haven’t heard a thing from Wisdom since our maintenance inspection mid-August. Pretty disappointing. We arent finished with maintenance yet - its been 12 months since moving in and we are still having to chase them. We have non flushing toilets that need fixing and this has been causing our water tank to be unusable for 9months now as it constantly stays on an cycles. Our fireplace walls have cracked and these have been replastered now waiting to be re painted and fireplace ftame/grilled to be reinstalled. We had the spitter on our front balcony removed (as it was leaking and installed incorrectly) so that hole was recently rerendered now waiting for the painter. Lintel issue also still unresolved....but that one is a structural warranty issue so am just wanting the other issues resolved first. Its been a very long frustrating process with maintenance, similar experience to admin in many ways. Wow thats really disappointing re your non maintenance, however not surprising.... That's pretty much it so almost done. Love your kitchen. Very similar to ours although we went white base and charcoal top. Is this the designer without the balcony? Was this on a Majestic or different design? Also are you on a flat block, high side or sloping? This is on a Manhattan 39 designer facade, no balcony. My block is not 100% flat. My block slopes down from front to rear as well but not a huge slope. We plan to minimize this when we do our driveway and will have the excavator flatten out the front of the house as much as possible. You'll notice in the kitchen photo between the foyer entry to the kitchen it steps down about 50cm which has enabled us to have 3.2m high ceilings. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 12912Oct 08, 2018 9:18 am Awesome pics doosra and singalg! Love seeing progress pics. it must be exciting to get to that stage, knowing you are almost at the finish line.. Per my earlier posts, i mentioned how we received our Council Submission Plans and saw some doors and windows not noted correctly. Even though our CSR said Internals (doors/windows) will be adjusted on the Construction Plans, i thought it was still wise to point them out anyway. I was not expecting them to do it right away or anything like that, but just thought i would make her aware etc. Anyway, she said she will speak to TL whether we will get charged admin fee for the stacker door height to dining/outdoor leisure. But in our defense, seems unfair because at Tender Presentation, we were given a basic house plan with NO window or door schedule so how were we supposed to know/pick it up? Even prior to the Tender Presentation, we were only given the Sales Estimate from Sales Consultant. If we had received plans that included the standard door and windows, i would have picked it up and brought it up at the Tender Presentation, right?! So i guess my advice would be for those at Tender stage. Ask for house plans that at least have the standard door and window heights as this was never given to us. Had we received decent plans, we would have had the time to mull over it before the appointments. I don't understand how they can charge fees if you weren't given the information in the first place? Note that the house plan that was given to us at tender presentation was the very bare minimum - it only had the room measurements Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 12913Oct 08, 2018 9:49 am twolittlepeas NENO241 becks81 I'm pretty sure we had to go with Sonen for solar panels. You get ?1.5kW of panels but we calculated that for our household we needed much more so got a variation raised for more. Decided against battery for now as it doesn't make financial sense right now but will get one aftermarket. We did not like what was offered battery wise from Sonen, nor the plan. 30 panels eek! Not sure when you were offered your promo but the one I was offered is the Bradford 5kW Solar chargepack with Telsa Powerwall 2 battery. Though I don't know what the difference is so keen to hear from anyone who's taken up this promo and if it meant extra panels for houses of 40sqm and over. I would assume so, therefore would like to understand what extra to provision. We chose the solar package, however our experience with it was a mess. We were asked to choose the solar package or the 15K Wisdom credit prior to signing the tender, so I assumed there would be some sort of consultation (like how you have a separate air con consult) but there wasn't. Your colour consultant is the person who should be discussing it with you. Make sure you bring it up during your colour selection appointment and make sure they have included it in your Basix. For us, it seemed to be missed. After all our selection appointments, I emailed our CSR about it, she said I need to speak to our colour consultant, who said that we would be charged a redraw fee as we would have to redo our basix. As for adding more panels, the colour consultant referred me back to my CSR, saying I'm done with my colour selections and adding extra panels would also affect our basix and incur admin fee.. so annoying. This would be my only complaint about Wisdom. We were not properly informed about the solar package. We were not given an opportunity to add extra panel variation since our basix was already submitted, and was discouraged from adding panels by advice of an admin fee. So I tried to revert and get our 15K Wisdom cash instead. Ended up getting a call from Mieke (by that point, we just got CDC approval) so cancelling the solar package would mean having to go back and redoing basix and extra delays. She also explained that the solar panels is not needed for CDC approval. The first time i saw the solar panels is first set of construction plans (after signing off draft end panel). You get 20 x 280W Panels, the Zever inverter and the Tesla battery. We are building a 24sq home. My husband seems really excited about it so I hope the solar package pays off while we walk on our standard range tiles. lol. I think the 15K Wisdom credit is better. Choose nicer tiles or get more upgrades. The costs really do add up in the end. Solar can always be done after handover. A redraw fee for a product you have elected they supply but failed to discuss with you at your colours appointment? Your colour consultant should have had your entire file at the appointment and should have gone through each and every aspect of your home which is not dealt with by appointment with an external supplier. This is appalling and I would be raising this with the general manager. Why should you pay a redraw fee for their error? Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 12914Oct 08, 2018 9:51 am Doosra thank you. It looks great! We also have a 510mm step down at the end of our foyer before the laundry/powder rooms to give a ceiling height of 3.1m at the back of the house. With the increased ceiling height at the rear of your house, did you increase the door, window, sliding/stacker doors and any other openings above the upgraded range of 2.3m? I'm just wondering if we don't do that than there is a fairly big space of gpyrock above the window/door architraves? Keen to hear thoughts on this. 🤔 Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 12915Oct 08, 2018 9:56 am twolittlepeas NENO241 becks81 I'm pretty sure we had to go with Sonen for solar panels. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 12920Oct 08, 2018 12:15 pm Hi guys, long time lurker on here as most of my questions have been found in this thread. Ive held back a bit on voicing my opinion on here but I think I have hit my limit with my frustrations with the Wisdom admin process. We had our colour appointment back in mid June and are STILL waiting on these to be finalised. 4 months on. Some of the guys have been great but other have had me pulling my hair out. We had a lot of back and forth on our kitchen as we signed our tender on an old promo and the quotes coming back had charges for the inclusive items. Then every time we signed a variation and it had an error on another point or other variations were missed and had to be resigned. I think all up we are about $3-4k over what we thought was our complete quote (not PA) for our kitchen. We now have had 2 instances where we have items included as part of a promotion or vouchers in our contract but are now being told they are not included. On contract signing our CSR told us we would hear from her each week, even if its just to check in. So far it has been a lot of our chasing her for updates or reply to emails! We waited 2 months for a variation to be sent through to change an external sliding door to a window. I honestly can not wait to see the back of the whole admin process.
