Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 03, 2018 9:57 pm We are building a brick house (PGH Emerald Horizon bricks) I’m thinking COLORBOND Monument roof and gutters with shale grey fascia’s and window frames. Deciding on if we should do Monument or shale grey garage. And if the window frames should be the same as the roof or garage. Anyone got photos of similar? Or opinions. Re: Garage and Window frame colour 2Oct 04, 2018 8:24 am You can use Home Visualiser tools - https://australbricks.com.au/ivisualise/ http://colorbond.autech.com.au/onlinevisualiser/ Re: Garage and Window frame colour 5Oct 04, 2018 9:30 am I guess it depends if you want a darker looking house or a lighter looking house overall. Also, are you worried about the colour of the window frames from the inside of the house? Some people are. I tried to keep our colour scheme to three colours to keep it looking neat (I read that somewhere and it seems to be true). We had Boral Mocha bricks (essentially brown with some variation in them). Dark grey tiled roof, Monument gutters, downpipes, windows, sliding doors, garage door, painted front door and back door. Dune fascia and a coloured tile for the pillars which was close in colour to Dune. So, Brown, Dark Grey, Lighter warmer grey. I would highly recommend using the Austral Bricks simulator. Obviously it doesn't have PGH bricks on there but you can pick a similar colour to get an idea. I just had a play on it with your colours and I am inclined to recommend a Monument garage door, windows and front door but I really like the darker colours so I am a bit biased. If you want you can check my blog as we have a similar colour them going on, except Dune, not Shale Grey. Hope that helps. I want to get white shutters inside so am leaning towards lighter window frames. I will try the simulators mentioned above. Thanks Re: Garage and Window frame colour 7Oct 04, 2018 2:35 pm Dylemma Thanks TashPaul. I just had a quick look at your blog. Your place looks great! Thanks We wanted a dark roof but light house, so went with Coal roof tiles, monument gutter and surfmist for fascia, windows and garage. Very happy with how it came together. I kept going back and forth between shale grey and surfmist. I emailed my builder a couple of hours ago and said monument for roof and gutters, surfmist for fascias, garage and windows. Exactly what you have! Only difference is ours won't be rendered, but so good to see yours, eases my mind a lot. Some builders cover them up others just leave them handing. You can cover it up with an aluminium bracket or ask the builder. 7 11860 |
