Pics? 4Sep 12, 2018 11:57 am I loathe the fact that they stick out. I provided my fridge particulars to my Kitchen Maker thinking it would sit flush with the cupboards, but it sticks out way too much for my liking - about 10 centimeters. Doesn't make sense. Confused Renovator Re: How does your fridge look? Pics? 6Sep 12, 2018 6:12 pm Sethor You have to buy an integrated fridge if you want a flush finish. You could make the recess wider to allow for doors to open but you are left with huge gaps on sides. ...or you could do what we did. Re: How does your fridge look? If you don't buy an integrated fridge then the fridge has to stick out the thickness of the door, so yes 10cm. If it sits flush and you open the fridge door past 90degress the door will hit and damage the kitchen panels on either side. Fridge manufactures also stipulate that the fridge doors need to open to a minimum of 130degrees to be able to fully open vegetable drawers. Fridges protrude because the fridge hinge is poorly designed. Kitchen companies cant do anything about this until manufactures come up with better designs. Pics? 10Jun 17, 2022 11:54 am arcadelt goldencrumble Would love to see some pics of people's fridges and see how they look in the fridge space and if they stick out. I've posted about this before. Unless you account for the ways the doors open or spend the money on a fridge that has been specifically designed to be built in, it will stick out, probably as far as the thickness of the doors. When we were building, I noticed that Fisher & Paykel has a surround kit that essentially puts a 45° stainless steel shroud around the fridge. However, I thought why not just build that into the joinery or plasterwork around the fridge, which is exactly what we did. Now the fridge only has to stick out as far as the handles, which is no different to the oven or microwave, etc. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Wow mate this is genius !! Can I ask if it was much more money and was the extra gap at the there for symmetry to the WIP door? I had a similar issue with my fridge not too long ago. It wasn't the same model, but the symptoms were pretty much the same: the compressor would start and then stop… 3 7531 No the fireplace doesn’t work. It’s been enclosed. I’m not sure what was removed, as it was done quite some time ago - well before what I can see with photos online… 2 11584 Interested in getting either the Polytec Boston Oak or Palace Peak for kitchen cabinets. Looking at the Boston Oak ones, it appears that the colour varies significantly… 0 9168 |
