When I chose my colours for my new house, I wanted a timber stained door to match with the timber parts of my facade and my timber-look garage door. The door used doesn't really have a grain pattern to it, so when they stained it, it just looks like a brown door and I hate it. I now want to change it for a proper timber door. It doesn't need to be solid timber, I simply want the look of timber so that my vision for my front facade can be complete. The front door currently installed is this one: https://www.corinthian.com.au/products/ ... n-vmad-104 I'd like something in the same style, but in actual timber. I'll call them now for a price. When staining a front door, do I need to apply a top coat, or is it the same process as staining a deck? Black on light wood does look good.
