Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 11, 2018 2:36 pm Hi Guys, I am appalled on how our building warp is installed: 1. Multiple rips, tears and openings 2. Wrong seam taps 3. several unnecessary joins 4. Poor installation and amateur workmanship 5. building wrap coming undone due to strong wind I'd really appreciate expert installers can weight in on these issues and if we should remove and reinstall the whole lot? If this happened on our new build, I would be kicking up a fuss. Are they trying to save cost by using off cuts for certain sections? Definitely an independent building inspector will provide feedback re: wall wrap installation standards. Who is your builder? Re: building wrap install issues 3Aug 11, 2018 9:15 pm I know you asked for an expert opinion which I why I wasn't going to reply (because I'm not an expert). On the other hand, I am not sure you need one. I cannot believe that anyone would consider this as anything other than appalling. I wouldn't be standing for it myself. Not only does it look like they literally pulled random people off the street to do it, but that they gave them random scraps and off-cuts from older jobs to complete it with. Unprofessional doesn't even come close to describing this. And I think any "expert" who says otherwise is an "expert" best avoided to be quite honest.
