Rip offs in this area are common, I have seen similar prices before but none were justified. Unfortunately, nearly all of the installs that I see are overpriced, sub standard, often not compliant and/or void manufacturer's warranties. Not underground.... 5000lt slimline tank. Need it to be installed with build as a requirement of council. Re: Building with Metricon 7554Jul 26, 2018 11:35 pm NthHome Hi All I upgraded to the largest daikin air conditioning unit - it’s huge and very good but very loud! The neighbours have been complaining and it’s starting to get nasty. I tried installing sound insulation materials that I bought from the below company but hat has been useless. http://thesilencer.com.au/air-condition ... roofing-2/ Is anyone in the same boat and what did they do? The fan noise is that main issue. Re: Building with Metricon 7555Jul 27, 2018 7:48 am shokel1975 Not underground.... 5000lt slimline tank. Need it to be installed with build as a requirement of council. A metal slimline costs about $2k minimum plus the builder's usual 20% mark up. It can easily come to $3k. The slab could be about $500. Pumps are usually unnecessarily oversized (cisterns fill at about 6 lpm) and consequently expensive and if the installer is a Davey dealer, you will almost certainly be given an expensive Rainbank automatic mains water switching device when there are better and cheaper options available. All up, the basics above could come to $5 plus labour and some other fittings including the electrical socket outlet aka gpo. To meet the Victorian 6 star requirement, the water tank must be serviced by a minimum 50 sq m roof catchment area. The "roof catchment area" is size factored to the roof slope which accounts for wind driven rain. If you have the standard 23 degree roof slope and the standard 115mm quad slotted guttering, a minimum of two downpipes will require diversion which means that the second remote downpipe diversion will entail a wet system that requires trenching and additional labour costs. It is easy to halve these costs with a little know how and product knowledge but it rarely happens unfortunately. 3in1 Supadiverta. Rainwater Harvesting Best Practice using syphonic drainage. I have had a strip drain installed, and in some sections the tiling is slightly lower than the edge of the strip drain so the water does not fully drain from the shower floor, resulting in water pooling along the tiles on the edge of the drain and the grout going mouldy quickly and needing scrubbing constantly. Metricon have have provided me a letter stating they will not fix this: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ To me, a shower that cannot fully drain cannot possibly be "built to code". They had their inspector come out who said the fall is correct and in his opinion the drain is below the level of the tiles. Video of the problem is here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1DMPZV0 ... sp=sharing Any suggestions on what my options are? Anyone suggest what I can do to fix this problem as Metricon SA have washed their hands of it and refusing to do anything. Their entire after sales service has been pretty disorganized and unresponsive.
