Then the slab was poured and it looks like the pool (without coping) is sitting approx 4-5cm below the alfresco (without tiles). Adding 1cm alfresco tile and 2cm coping would leave finished pool level approx 3-4cm below alfresco. Can we fix this by using thicker coping? I can live with 1-2cm difference but not 4cm. We couldn't put the slab down first as the blocks are very narrow with a lot of building going on around around us. Any other ideas? Any one had this situation? Cheers You could use a travertine tile on your Alfresco and a travertine paver around your pool, that will lessen the difference by 2cm Then if you’re concreting between the 2 just get them to grade the concrete down, 2cm shouldn’t be massively noticeable. You can also get drop edge pavers for around your pool to hide if they are higher than the pool slab but they are very expensive. The concrete between our pool and Alfresco is lower so that we can hose the pool and surrounding concrete without soaking the Alfresco.
