Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 03, 2018 10:59 am Hi guys! I’m having floating floor boards installed, but the guy doing it insists on ugly expansion gaps and trims across several doorways. It’s so bloody ugly, but he says it has to be done. So my question is, did anyone else have this done too, or is there another way around this? Any tips, suggestions would be welcome, as well as some photos if you could. Thanks so much! My Metricon Glendale in Sydney. Floating Floors 2Jul 03, 2018 3:07 pm What do you mean across doorway. Normally floating floorboard don’t need gaps except for the edge against the wall but need to ask someone more qualified. I’m doing solid wood flooring and it needed an expansion gap every 6 metres on the long edge. Thanks Simon, I guess I'm no concerned with the volume of the noise rather that dead and hollow sound and feel that is associated with floating floors. But I'm not sure… 3 6085 Thanks, that's the motivation I needed to give it a try sooner rather than one day! 4 2982 2 4657 |
