Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 11388Jul 02, 2018 2:34 pm The notations are everywhere in my previous post! I know there must a space limit but I was able to have few lines of our build timelines before in my signature, but now I can not. No worries I am trying to figure out, thanks Building Ambassador 41 Wisdom Homes Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 11391Jul 02, 2018 4:03 pm Jenifermarie The gyprock rumour was true, won’t lie I was pretty shocked as I didn’t believe it could be done that quick. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 11392Jul 02, 2018 4:16 pm GLO GLO Out of curiosity, what month did you all sign your contract and how long after that did it take for your slab to go down? Thanks in advance to everyone that replies. lombieagle Signed contract in May 17 slab completed 30 Nov 17 Jenifermarie Signed April 17, slab Feb 18. We had a 3 month delay in land registration jqcc0 Signed 10th November 2017. Slab should go down sometime this month hopefully. Thanks for your replies! Was it so long due to council delays? Has anyone had their slab down in 3months for a registered block and everything on their end sorted like colour selection and through CDC? And once the slab goes down how long till the frames go up? Thanks I think it’s possible if everything goes smoothly. We bought registered land too, and I felt everything tracked reasonably quick through admin. We signed tender & contract on 20th Feb CDC approval was on 10th May DEP 16th May Currently still stuck with the agreement of payment schedule.. between broker/bank & wisdom’s CSR manager.. so almost 7 weeks have gone by ☹️ Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 11393Jul 02, 2018 6:49 pm Kazi Hi GLO, Our time lines for you- Building Ambassador 41 Wisdom Homes Completion Dates: Contract Sign 14 Oct 2017 End Panel 07 Feb 2018 Prod. What's ur overall impression on the build and anything that we should look out for that they need to fix for urs? Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 11397Jul 02, 2018 7:58 pm Jenifermarie In the chaos of this week I forgot to post an update here. We had an inspection this week to check all our rough ins for electrical and AC. It was really nice just to meet our SS to be honest. We picked up a few power points in the wrong spot which have been fixed up since. The electrician only had a print out of the electrical plan so some of the measurements of above/inside vanity for the bathrooms weren’t readable unlike on the electronic PDF. Everything on site is looking good although I failed to get many interesting photos because I was too busy trying to document where all my wires were running! Our lower roof is in at the back, although we’re still missing the garage part of the lower roof. Kitchen bulkheads have also gone in Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ And our stacker doors are in place...lockup is coming! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We had an inspector go through too and he picked up a few minor issues with straightening a wall, fixing a pipe and a couple of floor trusses that needed extra fixing to the frame. Pretty minor stuff. Our SS sent over some update photos today to show the remediation work...so happy to see all that soundscreen insulation! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Gyprock was due to start today, originally it was scheduled on Wednesday but it was bumped back a couple of days for the remediation work. Building Wisdom Aspiration 31 at Willowdale https://ourwillowdalehome.wordpress.com/ Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 11398Jul 02, 2018 8:20 pm psur2357 Hi guys we upgraded the standard carpet areas to timber and found that at areas where timber meets tiles or timber meets stair carpet the floorer installed a silver coloured trimming pieces. We dont like this colour and I believe that they can get trimming pieces similar colour to the timber. Certainly bunnings offer a few colour options. Anyone got any experience in this? see photos below. thank you. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I enquired about getting a better colour to match our floorboards but Di Lorenzo said silver was the closet match. I have found a store than can order us in a matching colour but we'll have to change it ourselves. I think it's been glued down so it might be a bit of a challenge to change. If we want downlight provisions and outdoor flood light provisions, what exactly do they do and what will we need to purchase on our end? We will probably get WH to install some of our lighting but not all of it. And what is the consensus about downlights in bedrooms? We just plugged them all in on the weekend & they are perfect! SO easy to do... Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 11400Jul 02, 2018 9:55 pm doosra Chinoandbebe GLO

Congrats! What did you build an when did your slab go down? Awesome, so it only took 8 months to build!
That sucks. What's ur overall impression on the build and anything that we should look out for that they need to fix for urs?
Overall impression hmm...that's a hard one. We've definitely had our ups & downs. Knebel Kitchens have been amazing! We had an issue with some Scotia accidently being installed around our island bench & cupboards, but Knebel got it sorted quickly & kept me informed when replacing all the kickboards & back panel. They did a great job fixing it too. I'm very happy with how our kitchen turned out! It's ashame that some tradies just don't seem to care, which is disappointing & a let down. Some seem to lack common sense too. I would definitely suggest getting a Building Inspector, it's well worth it in my opinion. I used Jim's Building Inspector. My guy was very thorough. Try & have regular walk throughs with your SS, & know your plans & upgrades. That way you can pick up on anything that looks wrong or is missing before it becomes a real issue. Take lots of photos of your build during the different stages. You will use them as reference. Good luck! Can someone please offer some advice? Im DESPERATE.
