Browse Forums Building A New House Re: MOVING - Valeco - Polished Concrete + Monochrome 517Jun 26, 2018 7:40 pm breebarter staceyrussell I was over at the house today to finish cleaning the floors. I had planned on taking proper house photos (well, attempt to... I don't really have the proper knowledge or experience) but I stupidly took the wrong tripod adaptor. I took a couple of kitchen photos anyway, here you go! I'm unsure. I picked black splashback tiles with the intention of having the above walls painted black. Do you guys think it looks funny/incomplete if they are left white? I think it will look fine left white, like gr8ly mentioned, the contrast is nice. I’m not sure what style you like, apart from the monochrome lol! but maybe some wooden open shelving above? Can’t wait to see that long black wall! Yes you should come take a look, you will be able to see our house as soon as you come into the estate, left at the big round about on Menora rd and it’s on the right Sorry for double post but ever considered the concrete rough finish look where the white area is - if you are concerned the space is too white. Sorry for the silence, has been a busy few weeks... We spent our first night in our new house on Friday last week (organised removalists for our large furniture), and have been slowly moving the last few bits and pieces since then. Along with throwing away A LOT into a skip bin at our old rental. Finally finished everything tonight! Sadly I don't have any new house photos and will probably be a good month or so before I take any more. It's a lot of effort (I'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to photos) and I don't want to capture them until each space is setup properly/decorated. The house is quite large and empty at the moment really... but I'll be sure to post photos here when I get around to doing them. We did end up painting the kitchen and hallway black, along with a few other walls. I'm pretty happy with it. I think it will look even better once we organise some plants and artwork to bring back some white/colour etc. The day that we moved in one of my lillies got a flower! (But the very next day the flower was broken in half, haha) I hope everyones builds are going smoothly!! Really looking forward to seeing our feature lights installed. To my understanding early saw cuts are to control shrinkage cracks, so doing them now would be pointless. Control joints may reduce ugly cracking during periods of soil… 3 9863 Hi all I need a guidance on how far I need to space expansion joints in the concrete driveway and its type (keyway/foam.) Contraction joints are at 3m max for a 125 slab. Thanks 0 10947 |
