The roof tiles n windows have arrived but no work has been done. Maybe coz of the rain but not sure. The slab invoice is still with CBA. My broker really made a mess of submitting the invoice n not following up with CBA on what is outstanding. Going to complain as its not acceptable. We received the frame invoice but have not yet received the group 4 frame completion stage report. Drew did you get this from Group 4 before you made the payment. Our BSC advised that group 4 are doing a re inspection tomorrow of the frame and will then finalise n send through their report which we can then forward to the bank. The bank have confirmed that their inspector has done the slab inspection, but the invoice does not match the construction schedule submitted by our broker, hoping to get an answer tomorrow. Do they let u know why they have not worked on site if its a couple of days? We're not that concerned about them having a day here and there with nothing happening due to weather. At this stage, by my reckoning, I would say they've had 2-3 days off when the weather's been atrocious, but once the house is bricked and foamed, I can't see them slowing up much. With respect to the Group 4 report, I got a soft copy of the inspection a few days after it was conducted, and my builder mate and I went to compare her findings against his opinion, and he agreed with the findings. We paid the invoice before we received the Group 4 report - end of the day, if it hadn't been correct, we have every confidence our site manager would have fixed it anyway - YES, HE'S THAT GOOD!!! Because we're "cash builders" as far as Metricon are concerned, we don't have a bank to worry about, and to be honest, most bank inspectors don't know what they're looking at. Looks like you’ll have lots of leftover brick. That’s if your keeping them. We had 2 pallets of spares which we had to move to the back But by the time we moved in someone stole most of them lol In a way we were glad because we still haven’t used them haha We'll keep as many as we can - there's lots of broken bricks all over the place at the moment, which is a little disappointing - I'd have thought the less broken bricks the more bits of broken brick to pick up after the fact.... After much deliberation, I ended up with our toilet roll holders at 800mm from the wall, and 800mm up; the towel rails at 1020 and 1800mm, and hand towels at 750mm.... Onto the more important matters, the brickies have nearly finished, and insulation is installed, electrical rough in is complete. And the massive slab no longer looks as high off the ground, which is a massive bonus!! The tiles are also 1/4 the price... Currently tossing up if we go 600x600 or 600x300, either of which will flow from our internal 600x600 floor tiles, although I'm a bit concerned that 600x600 will make the outdoor space look small, as there would be 2 1/2 tiled at the front door, and 5 at the alfresco. Our outdoor tile is Belga Charcoal Textured, in a 600x300mm that we'll lay across the portico and alfresco, to give the sensation of the spaces being wider. The bathroom accessories are the Merrica range from Beaumont's which compliment the Mizu Bliss tap range, and are very similar to the Mizu Drift accessories we WERE going to buy from Reece. The Merrica range saved us $700 for what feels like a sturdier accessory. This is the robe hook, I forgot to take a photo of the display board. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I have a couple of reservations about their mounting system, and if it's not acceptable, we'll change them for another range that is a big more square in its mounting system, such as the Phoenix or Jaya range. We found Beaumont's had a much better range of well priced accessories than both Reece and Studio/M. The brickies are pretty much done, with a couple of small items that need fixing - I urge everyone to check where their external power wiring is run out through the mortar courses. Much better to catch it before the mortar goes off, as the guys can knock out a couple of bricks and move the wires quite easily. Gyprock was starting yesterday, and the guys reckon they'll be done in 10 days. Make sure before your Gyprock goes up that you mark where all your noggins are, and any data cables that you might want to find after the house is handed over. A photo with a tape measure in it does a good job, or hand drawing to accompany the photo. In some rooms, I even measured the distances between studs, as we have some chunky things hang on the wall, including a framed Olympic torch my wife ran with. The only changes ended up being structural, so have already been done. Or are you putting cavity sliders on the ensuite? We are not closing off the ensuite, so are concerned with light that will come into the bedroom at night/early morning from the shower window. Thinking about a blockout blind, but not sure if water/steam will affect or damage it.... of course there are legal avenues. You've already mentioned it. Sue them.
