Tiles and timber were chosen for their look/price balance with no thought as to how they would come together. No special instructions were given, but this is a custom build, so the relationship between me as project manager and client, the builder and all his trades has become very close. I was there when we were trying to work out the best way to do it and this was the end result of the discussion. The transition piece is just basic aluminium angle.
