Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building with Orion Homes in Armstrong Creek, VIC. 11Jun 09, 2018 5:48 pm We have now hit 12 months and 1 week with these incompetent people who are supposed to be builders. No correspondence from our emails dating back to May 13th. I'm sure the word is getting around. I know it certainly is amongst all my friends and family. The first thing everyone always asks is "who are you building with"? No one can really believe it. Upon finding this later and raising it, they stated the engineering plan was changed as those some of the upgrades were not possible. No refunds, plenty of arguments, and we can't do anything since it was signed. I can honestly tell you it is very difficult to spot some of the changes/differences in engineering plan. Re: Building with Orion Homes in Armstrong Creek, VIC. 14Jun 21, 2018 10:00 am I agree with everything. If we didn't have have an independent inspector, we would have no caulking, no doors painted top and bottom, wrong nails used at framing stage. Basically each report has 48 pages of defects. I spread the word as much as I can so no one can go through the financial pain as us. Our build took 12 months and 2 weeks. Our experience was 100% perfect from the display homes, to signing contracts and colour selection etc. They promise you the earth about build start times etc, and then after that everything just turns to rubbish with them and they dont want to know you. we signed contracts in October last year, land was titled etc, colour selection done in November. We were super inpressed everything was going so well as promised. Then nothin happened for months, despite chasing them up and querying stuff, (they’re usual reply by email time is about a week), nothin was happening. Then when i pushed harder, the engineer apparently came back with an inground storm water system. Like previous posts, “Dominic had never heard of anything like that in over 10 years, we got the same thing, promised us it wouldnt cost anything more than about 1200 dollars. In reality they hit us with 10,000 dollars in the week we were supposed to have our building permit. I checked with local council etc who stated that it wasnt necessary, checked with neighbours where we were building and they didnt need it despite the land being same levels etc. Permit issued in April and they started to build in Mid April. We’re now nearly into July and they still dont even have a frame in place while other builds around us are flying up. We found our brand new alfresco doors layin on the concrete slab 2 weeks ago scuffed and damaged. Emails sent to the builder and supervisor who investigated and found what id said to be true and that they would rectify it. We then find out last week that the supervisor has resigned and a new one will be coming on and that we should have patience with the build. I again sent a very unhappy and disgruntled customer email to their customer liason maneger Jan last week, and funnily enough and as per usual, hasnt saw fit to reply, just ignore you. We utterly regret having chosen company and going from everyones experiences, we’re now going to pay the extra money and hire an independant inpector to check everything over!! This company is so frustrating to deal with, i cannot tell you how annoyed we are!! Also seems to similar patterns forming with hidden costs etc in the drains and stormwater stuff. I do not recommend them at all. But we’re stuck with them. Re: Building with Orion Homes in Armstrong Creek, VIC. 17Jun 26, 2018 7:16 am We since found out he charged us too much for things like $700 for one isolater for an air conditioner. We questioned it. They reinbursed us $350. he is a complete lier and the more I can spread the word the better. I know for a fact that they are they laughing stock of everyone of of my friends and family. I am waiting for our 6 month maintenance and then I will write a review. It will literally be a book. They didn't respond to any of our emails for months because they know they are so incompetent. They didn't do any caulking in our bathrooms, yet we received an occupancy certificate. We used David Seville as an our inspector. He will be a millionaire out of us. lol. I know people who built with them whose windows are literally pooling with water on the inside.

Re: Building with Orion Homes in Armstrong Creek, VIC. 20Jun 26, 2018 10:29 am I have heard by one home owner not to build with Orion Homes. I have posted this before: We hired Darbecca to do every stage inspection, and I strongly recommend them to anyone that asks me. They were amazing. Thorough reports… 2 4410 Ask for references and speak to them. If they are defensive or try to avoid the request, walk. 1 74219 I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending. All their existing trades and businesses don't work with… 14 105129 |
