Man that view! those cows. so beautiful, my partner and I just go for random drives to places like that haha, so we would love to have something to call home like that later on in life I think I dont think you can go wrong with asphalt out there, and your facade colours will work REALLY well with it oh i'm glad you mentioned the arrows on the back of the tiles, our tile lady said the tiler WOULD lay them with the 'grain' so to speak, but i best not assume (mainly for my own anxiety really) I'm paranoid with our medium grey benches in the kitchen that the medium grey grout with our marble look herringbone may be too much, or busy. I have a feeling it works better with the marbling tone in the tile, but i'm trying to work out if misty grey would look okay or if it would be too light I think you made a great choice going with Misty Grey, and i'm not saying that because i want to see it haha, but because your kitchen is very white already. anything darker may look too busy (once you add things to the counter, and have everything else in the kitchen) misty grey is subtle enough to show off the pattern but not be super in your face I have to go to the tile shop and stand there for 30mins with all the grout samples again haha. I'm more concerned about our actual marble tiles above the ensuite sink though (its a small section above the counter, and under the mirrors/window), our tile lady said white so we went white. but im worried the white will make all the grey pop out too much, and we have Urban Ceaserstone as the counters in there. Again worried if it will make it all too dark. I kind of wished we binned the marble and went something more white I think the kitchen will be fine, would look good either way, but i feel like with the ensuite I will either go 'that worked out pretty good actually' or '...god dammmit' haha I keep going back and forth clearly. maybe i should just flip a coin then I can always blame the coin and not myself haha We are so happy with our block. It’s going to be amazing for the kids to grow up with so much space. Sounds like you like to ‘procrastinate the crap’ out of things too lol. Only 30 minutes looking grout, grout took me a whole day and reselecting my tiles took me about 3 weeks 🤣. I think everyone rethinks their selections and I don’t really have any advice because I’m the worst but once I’ve really decided I just put it out of my head and move on. At the end of the day these will be our very own houses and if we hate something we can always change it  . That’s what my husband keep telling me to talk me off the ledge anyway 🤣. Building our first custom dream home. https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?share_ ... are_type=t We went to the tile shops about 4 or 5 times before our tile appointment, and still on the day went through all the floor tiles again to make sure our original pick is what we wanted haha and then we forgot to take a photo of everything together so the next day or weekend we went to our local shop and looked at it all again and try to work out which countertop would look best (staff kept coming over asking if i needed help because i kept looking at the two counter swatches against the display splash back like over and over and over and over again haha. but that's when i started to be unsure of the grout colours. When we first got their details from the developers (so we could get them to sign the build to boundary form) where were told by the developers that all the details they had were of a Building company. So i have a feeling they have bought some in the street and are going to flog them off.We are fairly certain they were the ones that left the concrete on our land, and when we asked them about it they said they cleaned theirs up. Then they were asking for half the fence amount (they clearly wanted to get it asap as their build was finishing up within a month or two) and then we realised that was for the full fence, even though our garage would be taking up some of that fence line, so we said we weren't going to pay for that section if it was just going to be pulled down in a month. And we requested for them to wait until our slab was poured before putting the fence up, or our site cut. We rocked up to our first meeting with our SS and the neighbour builder put the entire fence up. But at least the small retaining wall was sorted so that was a good thing Our slab broke through the retaining wall there and our SS told us he was going to fix it up later including the fence. but a few weeks ago the neighbour builder cut down the remaining posts that were left for the fence. Bit annoying because i think our SS said he was planning to replace the remaining slats (so maybe leave the fence intact on our garage) and now they have put together some poorly done side gate (i will PM you a photo) and the corner part that sits at the end of our garage isn't that stable. But I certaintly don't want to mention it to them because they will probably just drill more holes into our property It's the ugliest house on the street too gutted it's next to us haha. We have had no dramas from our other neighbours though, so that's amazing, and when we had our frames done I noticed there was some little metal pieces that got flown in the process into the pretty neighbours side, so I was walking around cleaning up their yard. Surely that is not allowed! That would be so disheartening for you guys. We have a house next to us they is pretty ugly but thankfully the neighbours are nice. They just chose yuck colours. I hope it all gets sorted asap. Wehad our neighbours builders on our left side pull out our boundary pegs! We took photos and the concrete was dumped over the hole. We called there building supervisor and he denied it. But we said we have a photos and dates so he said it will be fixed before we move in. Its so frustrating to have more drama. 😩 Oh god! I think Coral have been amazing so far, all our rubbish is still all in our front area, and our back yard and in the house is kept pretty tidy, so it's a shame some builders make the others look crap. Yea we had photos before the cement was dumped, and it was near their house, and suddenly a few weeks later it was in the middle of our land. but they denied it of course, such a shame. There is a vaccant lot across the road from us, and so many builders have dumped all types of building rubbish there, I really feel for the people who own it, as we had three piles on ours, and I actually asked my dad to come out one morning and jackhammer the poured cement. The poor lot across from us has like 7 piles of crap. I'm PARANOID that the builders next to us put the fence up over too far and our slab is in the wrong spot because of it. But i'm probably just being paranoid and sad about the little land we have to the other side haha. I was planning to put spices in there for cooking (as we didn't go with the three pot drawers high) But i've since learned its best not to put spices above the rangehood anyways. Maybe its best to have them in the cupboard to the side then?? not that much further away though. But i'm sure there's a reason it has happened this way so not overly fussed and it will work out for the better in the end. hooray for functioning cupboards though! Ii was super excited to see the recessed part for our LED strip was not forgotten about, it went the entire way under the upper cabinets too (not two pieces either side of the rangehood like it was originally stated as) And for anyone curious, this is the upgraded height to the bedroom wardrobes we asked for, eager to utilize the space. It looks awesome! How exciting. I can’t wait to see all our cabinetry. 😄 Just to give you a little piece of mind. I was worried that our neighbours flab was to close to our fence. Thinking they put it in the wrong spot. But we called our Ss and he said all the builders/ engineers measure and place the slab according to gps not the pegs. I was so relieved to hear this. 😅 that's what my partner said about the GPS too. And i'm sure Coral would have done their gps before starting, or it would be a s**t storm for them later if it were wrong so they wouldn't slack on something like that The cupboard height was one of the first things we requested hahaha, I think it's my favourite upgrade too and probably the cheapest, i think it was $150 for three robes for the higher cupboard doors (we then upgraded two of those to have the mirror finish on top of that) Here is a photo at frame stage of the WAS study nook, turned into two robes. The lower one is across from the ensuite and that's the linen. We are also planning on the raised ceilings but I'd only considered the higher wardrobes after following along your build, it looks so good! (and SO efficient!). Are your ceilings raised to 2590 or 2720? We had this down in our tender (we changed it like 5 times before contract) but i cant for the life of me see it in there, not in the final one either BUT our electrical paper work says $302.72 and that's for supply and install. My cousin built with Coral last year and they said they didnt even get functional doors on theirs haha, so strange, and they inquired about it and i believe they said Coral said the company that currently does their cabinets on the Sunshine Coast just does it like that It could be different now.
