They’ve been in for 31 months now, painted for 18 months. Can’t guarantee it’s helping, but they’ve been well behaved so far. I have seen some painted in gloss clear in photos recently, looks awesome. Not sure if the gloss lasts as long though. I asked my builder and the installer for advice for same. No advice from either. There’s even controversy black plastic versus geo fabric which allows water to drain through. Landscapers seem to prefer Geofabric. I have been told the treated pine sleepers last for 20 years. I spoke with the treated pine association. Their advise was either to stain oil or paint. So I had the light green colour matched and painted them with haymes exterior low gloss.
