We are starting to get there now Re: Bold Living Acreage build, Scenic Rim QLD - Slab Stage 646May 25, 2018 8:42 pm Well lookee here!!! Congratulations, your house as I expected is going to be magnificent. I knew you were building but I could never remember my password and could never be bothered re setting it...…. Can't wait to see your style coming together - your lights are stunning! Good luck finding beautiful splashback tiles, you may or may not remember my dramas getting them then choosing grout. Your baby is also all grown up! Bluesteel x Re: Bold Living Acreage build, Scenic Rim QLD - Slab Stage 647May 26, 2018 9:17 pm Tribe7 WifeofHunza Wow powering along tribe. I cannot believe the speed of the progress. Your kids are going to end up being architects, engineers, tradies and designers with all the onsite experiences they gain through this with you. Hey Wolfie, I hope one of them ends up as a builder So what’s news with you?? I’m dying to see your thread and plans and colours and block and tiles and everything. Sorry I have made the decision that I wont have a thread.... after all these years of stalking others... I feel a bit bad as I am not giving back to the community here but every time I go to start one, something goes wrong and now I feel a little superstitious. But I will fill you in. We now have the carport slab, and all the footings for the rest of the house are in. We have a huge piece of steel suspended in the air to support the second floor. We had to have steel as I insisted the back room 9m x 9.5m have no internal supporting walls. Sub floors and framing starts next week..... I hope .....aaahhhh superstitious again! Bluesteel x Well howdy Blue ❤️ So lovely to hear from you again. Thank you for the kind words, fingers crossed it all comes together and looks good 🤷🏼♀️. Yes I do remember you picked beautifully though, what did you end up doing with your little study at the front council made you have? Yes pippa is big, 3 and a half now, gosh she was only 5 months old when we had our first site cut. ❤️❤️ Re: Bold Living Acreage build, Scenic Rim QLD - Slab Stage 649May 29, 2018 1:36 pm WifeofHunza Tribe7 WifeofHunza Wow powering along tribe. I understand, I felt the same way when we finally got everything back together after our horror bank run and worried starting a new thread would doom us to hell. I’m so pleased everything has taken off and your moving through the process, it can be stressful and it doesn’t always go to plan but try to roll with it and not sweat the little things. If you feel the need to share you can always private message me some photos if like, some times it’s nice to share and express the excitement. God I jump around like an 10 year old some days no pressure, completely up to you. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ so I went to ikea a couple of weeks ago (omg who can leave that place without spending $500!!!) and amongst my shopping picked up one of these cheap $11 tables. I had no idea what I wanted to do with it and was looking at Pinterest with my big girl and stumbled across fluid art, I tried it and loved it. After a thrash at mitre 10 for supplies I got busy on my table. We actually have the same table that was given to us, the top isn't raw, its white but it has a mark in the middle of it (hence why it was given to us) and i've been try to work out which way i want to go with re doing the top Re: Bold Living Acreage build, Scenic Rim QLD - Slab Stage 652May 29, 2018 2:09 pm That looks amazing! What about contact or wall paper and spray it with a sealer?? Bold Living Acreage build, Scenic Rim QLD - Slab Stage 654May 29, 2018 2:22 pm dillongl That looks amazing! Did you add silicone? Just googled fluid art and there are a few ways to do it! Thanks it was stupid amounts of fun (until I had to clean up ) I found that too and was a little over whelmed. I used flotrol in my acrylic paint (I brought 500mm sample pots for $8.50 at Mitre10 as it’s cheaper than tube acrylic) I also added a bit of water to get the medium right I then added silicone. So I had to think outside the square there as we live in a country town I don’t have things at hand. bunnings is a 50 min drive one way so I brought pure silicone based lubricant I put a few drips into the paint (individual colours) and a few more drips into the dirty pour cup (I did the table with a 2 cup dirty pour) once the paint was on the table top I did a little titling and then got the butane torch out to open up the paint cells and then let it dry. Definitely give it ago it’s really enjoyable, I did a couple of pots and a canvas and will do a big print too Re: Bold Living Acreage build, Scenic Rim QLD - Slab Stage 655May 29, 2018 4:06 pm Oh i like the idea of a canvas! Yeah i'd just be doing the top of mine. I was thinking some contact paper would be the easiest way to do it... probably less of a clean up too haha would love to see your canvas Re: Bold Living Acreage build, Scenic Rim QLD - Slab Stage 656May 29, 2018 5:57 pm CC7 Oh i like the idea of a canvas! I’ll post some pics tomorrow when I do some more painting. Kmart have marble contact (I have some stashed in the cupboard) you can also buy some awesome ones online too.
