Thanks for the reply So 2700-300-300 = your windows are 2100mm? What about your Doors? Are they 2400mm to linenup with the top of the Windows ? Floor Layouts 5,6, etc The only real way to visualize & analyze your project is in 3D BIM But is that something the builder will do?im guessing they will charge for it? Oh and thanks for reply Re: Window/Ceiling height concerns 7May 16, 2018 6:36 pm vitalogy83 vitalogy83 StructuralBIMGuy @vitalogy83 Welcome to the forum Sloping blocks offer challengers Namely 1. Oh and thanks for reply The builder do use 3D BIM Software for Designing the floor plan, creating the elevations and different rendered views He doesn't used it for engineering nor for Compliance checks. It's easier and convenient to let someone else worry about that later on, after he gets a deposit from you...then it becomes a variation at a higher profit margin. Try to get as much of the big items priced before the builder locks in payment And you are welcome Designer,Engineer (Civil,Const & Envir),Builder,Concrete & Masonry Contract.Struct Repairs Re: Window/Ceiling height concerns 8May 17, 2018 9:48 am One thing with higher ceilings is that you can have fans easily. I reckon they are so good in summer especially - and higher ceiling means more out of the way. I live in Qld and in the really hot weather have the aircon on 26 and fans on. Its perfect. At night - just the fans. People who visit think the aircon is set much lower. I like things to line up to a degree - so - as long as things on each level are level I see no issue - ie windows etc. I'd be keeping them similar distance down from ceiling. Maybe consider some of the windows to the floor ? Similar with things in the ceiling. You see some people just slap lights, air con, fans etc willy-nilly. Its not hard to set in a pattern - easy on the eye. Window/Ceiling height concerns 9May 17, 2018 3:27 pm We have 2700 ceilings with 2400 high doors and window head heights line up with the doors. Windows vary in height depending on the room, however in the main family room we went 2300 so the window goes almost to the floor and looks basically the same as the sliding doors. In the smaller living (not the same space, and different elevation) we kept them to 2100 high windows, the price jump to a 2400 was exponentially bigger than the upgrade from 1800 to 2100, so we couldn't justify it in this room. Master (front elevation) I think is 2300 also, minor bedrooms just have small windows, however the head heights match all around. You could have highlight windows above the stackers to use up some of the wall space, I imagine that would start getting very $$$ though. Most importantly match your head heights on the same floor level. Thanks for all replies. I just noticed now the pictures I added to post right on top of page were wrong. I attached pictures showing "current" and my "suggested" floor… 9 14968 Regardless of wall hung toilet or floor pan toilet your feet will be right on drain, seems to me the waste should not be in that location given the design. Also are you… 6 7395 Thank you @ashington Homes for your reply! They just got back to me and offered credit for me to just take it as is. It was a less than quotes I got from ceiling… 6 2069 |
