It's amazing how quick the frames pop up. Hopefully they fly through to lock-up stage so there aren't too many rain delays Re: Barbie Dream House - First Build in Port Stephens 128May 19, 2018 7:13 am Builder has sent the frame progress claim already! Headed out tomorrow to see (no tradies on Sundays, I can have a proper stickybeak!). It's happening so fast!! ~ Emma Re: Barbie Dream House - First Build in Port Stephens 129May 19, 2018 6:42 pm They always are quick to send the invoices arent they! Haha we had the slab invoice paid Thursday afternoon and budgeted for the new repayments, then the frame invoice was emailed Friday night. There should be a few weeks now until we get the next one! I know. The slab invoice and frame invoice do come close together. We should get our next in a week or so. Re: Barbie Dream House - First Build in Port Stephens 133May 25, 2018 6:27 am Hi Tribe! Frames are finished and look amazing except the wrong colour gutters have been installed (should be monument but it's basalt to match the fascia)... That was disappointing to see but walking through the house skeleton was fun, it gives a real sense of where all the furniture will go. I've flagged the gutters with the builder and have my fingers crossed it will be fixed soon. When we visit on Sunday I'm hoping for windows or roof tiles (as well as the right gutters). Re: Barbie Dream House - First Build in Port Stephens 136May 25, 2018 8:30 pm Yay to progress the frames are looking huge and the portico is very grand. Damn about the gutters, least it can be fixed but still a little painful. I hope lots has happened when you go for your visit on Sunday Re: Barbie Dream House - First Build in Port Stephens 137May 27, 2018 2:28 pm Holy balls, it's a house! Very exciting hour or so spent at the house today, mapping out the electrical plan. Gutters have been fixed, and so has the picture window frame (it was installed upside down two weeks ago). Rear boundary fence has been installed and the backyard seems so much smaller than I imagined but we still have 100sqm-ish down the wider side boundary to play with. So pleased with everything, can't wait to see the roof and bricks finished. You will get so much light in through that window. Re: Barbie Dream House - First Build in Port Stephens 139May 28, 2018 1:00 pm Wow it’s looking awesome, good work with fixing the facia and the window great news about your fence, I have to hassle my younger neighbours about the fence . It will be super exciting to see your brickies start. Re: Barbie Dream House - First Build in Port Stephens 140May 28, 2018 1:47 pm I was so shocked at all the progress, I was expecting maybe windows and no gutters! Can't wait to see the bricks up, they look so blue against a charcoal roof tile. ~ Emma Well these guys are not looking good... I sent them a written enquiry last week and they have not yet replied.
