I'm also having kitchen issues, mainly about trying to fit everything in. I really want a bin draw but struggling to find the best layout for everything such as microwave recess, dishwasher recess, cutlery draws, pot draws etc also to include a bin draw it's almost $800 eeekkkk We are building the Dayton floorplan with a few changes on a small corner block Which part of Calleya are you building in? We're building in Grandis on Fuchsia. Still waiting on titles to issue. Yes it is hard to make sure you've got everything you want! Some of the prices for drawer/cupboard accessories are crazy. I've seen a few after-install accessories on kitchen warehouse's website, you should have a look. Re: Celebration Homes Build 15May 14, 2018 5:43 pm lad2018 lisalula lad2018 so i've also decided to go ahead with Celebration Homes in Calleya and am awaiting contracts. I have a double wall oven in my plan and I'm interested to hear how you got on with that, what was the original model being supplied? Exciting! Whereabouts in Calleya are you building? And what plan are you going with? I know they have a promo which includes a double wall oven but that model is very basic (Westinghouse WVE615W) and also we wanted an oven and a microwave/oven combo (so its 600mm and 450mm, rather than 2x 600mm ovens). I'm sure the oven does a good job but we enjoy cooking and are willing to pay a little bit more. We have only just signed our building contract and our consultant has advised that we are to sort all this stuff out at prestart, so we are still waiting on prices to come through etc so we can make a decision. Thanks for your comments Hi, i’m Building in Grandis right next where the new school oval will be. I’m building a variation of The Brighton. The kitchen entertaining area is the heart of the home so I’m really trying to make it stand out so i’m willing to spend more, i’m hoping I can swap the ovens out for smeg, also hoping they do handless cabinetry. Where abouts are you? We're in Grandis too. Just on Fuchsia. Very cool! Be careful with the prices. We've been advised of the price of the items we want to change to and the price they have given (e/o the standard) is more expensive than it is to purchase the oven from the store. So we are trying to figure out what to do. I think they said they do handle-less cabinetry from memory. Let me know how you get on. We just got a call about booking in prestart.. very nervous for that part! Re: Celebration Homes Build 16May 14, 2018 6:17 pm I just don't understand how designers place cinema rooms / theatre rooms so close to bedrooms, in this case separated by a wet area that will likely be tiled and therefore an echo chamber for sound transmission. Secondly, they design the room square, which is an absolute no no for home theatres / surround sound. Hope you're not planning to use it for anything but a tv / sitting room. We're not too worried, we wanted it where it was so that a bedroom wasn't on the road. We aren't too familiar with theatre rooms and their need so i'm sure it will be treated as another lounge. Hopefully not too much sound comes through the walls otherwise we're going to be in trouble altogether! :-? I can't say i've seen any theatre rooms that aren't square or rectangular in all my display home viewing?! Re: Celebration Homes Build 18May 14, 2018 6:34 pm Rectangular far better than square for sound resonance. I suggest you consider sound check plaster for those adjoining walls, but I also noticed that its open to the hallway so not sure if it would help much. Great for a sitting room / parents retreat / kids play room / second lounge though! I just hate it when I see builders using room names that are completely inappropriate for the space, purely for marketing and their sales brochures! Going to be a lovely home, I hope it goes well for you! Going to be a lovely home, I hope it goes well for you! Oh I thought you meant you wanted round or something! Haha. Thanks for mentioning, I will query it with our builder. We are thinking of putting in a fixed wooden feature panel with a rolling wooden panel to close the room up at some point in the future. I fancy myself as a bit of a renovator so need to save some tasks for after handover. Thank you Re: Celebration Homes Build 20Jun 14, 2018 9:26 pm Belated update... So we sorted our kitchen, we are getting a credit for the oven and induction cooktop and installing our own oven, micro/oven combi and induction cooktop. The price worked out to be around $5k cheaper to install our chosen appliances ourselves (that's with the 3 phase power upgrade) so after convincing Celebrations that we wouldn't budge, they kindly agreed to this. Another thing to add to the list for "After Handover"! We had our prestart yesterday, 4.5hrs later we were done. Our prestart consultant was the right amount of lovely/knowledgeable/patient/sassy and we're glad that part is over! I will give a breakdown of our extras once I receive the formal variation, but we're pretty happy with it all! Still waiting on titles to issue... Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 18999 3 51207 Ask for references and speak to them.
