We are over 2 weeks past our start date, no fault of our own. Should be given a start date today. The admin stage is so immensely slow. If they forget to add a plug or something seems to take a week to rectify. Admin does not appear to work on Mondays either. Admin was extremely slow and really frustrating. We had 6 months from when we signed up for our block (May 2017) to settlement (November 2017), so had a lot of time to get the plan right before we signed anything. Not sure if that helped. The admin process is so painful... my contact does work mondays. Feels like it takes forever. I’m building in mundoolun and have been waiting months for the administration to be ready. Still don’t have an official start date and waiting on a variation since feb... my original contact has been let go so I have someone new now who seems to know what she is doing so That’s good Re: Coral Homes Avoca 20 - Ripley QLD 34Apr 30, 2018 11:19 am bestspecials CC7 nikhi24 Yes would love to know how it's all going. We had 6 months from when we signed up for our block (May 2017) to settlement (November 2017), so had a lot of time to get the plan right before we signed anything. Not sure if that helped. we gave them measurements say for the fridge cut out, and in the tender it clearly said 'cut out size, so max fridge will be etc X' little things like that, and they came back in the drawings as something else haha. And also little stuff like forgetting to upgrade the robe height in one room, and forgetting to put a mirror front on one. It was mainly drawing errors, like we wanted a long laundry bench, and it came back as a small one. We just wanted to make sure the drawings were 100% as i've heard of some stories on here where things didnt get picked up until they were building it, or some of the workers had the older plans it was just me having triple check everything when the 'fixes' came in, to make sure they didnt do a lazy fix. and my partner chasing up things. but overall I was pretty happy with them, our admin girl was amazing and got back to us when she said. I think my partner was more stressed out about it as it was happening when he was going through his crazy month at work, and then there was a huge crisis at work so he was exhausted in general oh and we changed the font room window to a regular sliding window, and we noticed a month after the actual drawings came back that it was off centered. they fixed that up fast though, but just a little annoying that you have to make sure things are how they should be. the good news is, that i know the drawings almost by heart now hahaha so if it means there's any little mistakes during the build i could probably pick up on them before it gets hard to fix. Our SS is great too so far, I dont think we will have any problems, unless it rains haha Re: Coral Homes Avoca 20 - Ripley QLD 35Apr 30, 2018 11:27 am cass_rox nikhi24 Yes would love to know how it's all going. We put deposit on land in April 2017 had house/builder picked out ect, signed initial contract in November, land registered on January 5, The neighbouring houses that registered at same time are over half way finished *sigh* Apparently Im just waiting for the final checks to be done on slab design. I don't know anything about building but I would have thought this would have been done awhile ago. I would have lost my shizz by mid March!! I certainly did, I was waiting for a variation to change the water tank from the 10th of jan and only got it back mid April. Also I was promised a colourbond and frame promotion free and the guy I had said yup it’s added, then sorry it’s a mistake then would call back a week later yup it’s all added. Then I tried calling him last week to find.out they let him go. I asked in February for another rep as he never followed up with me and never returned my calls. I emailed him the Friday before saying if he didn’t sort my stuff out I was done and ditching coral.. this guy was hopeless I swear... Then I get another rep and she is lovely and has been sorting out all his mess. I have been waiting since October last year and still don’t have my date... always waiting on their admin team. It honestly better start soon I am so so close to loosing the deposits and going to Stroud or plantation Re: Coral Homes Avoca 20 - Ripley QLD 38Apr 30, 2018 11:58 am Oh that sounds so awful, I would have drove to head office and just camped out there until it was fixed lol. But I feel your pain. So when do they think they will have it sorted and a start date? It is a shame we can't insert our own monthly late start day payment in contract like they do although I suppose some more knowledgeable may do just that. Re: Coral Homes Avoca 20 - Ripley QLD 39Apr 30, 2018 12:16 pm Yes I wish. I am only waiting for one last variation now (I only made two changes and both as I had been waiting so long and still a long time ago. One was change to a poly tank and the other moving a linen cupboard) which is just swapping the side the linen cupboard is on so moving it just from one side of the wall to another... then they should be ready. I wish I had Steph since the start so far she has been great. Coral Homes Avoca 20 - Ripley QLD 40Apr 30, 2018 1:10 pm I feel for you guys that’s crap house service, how long do you really need to wait for a few pieces of paper. When we built the first time on the Gold Coast our bat crap crazy neighbour built with coral and said the admin was a nightmare, I tried to build with Coral before we looked at Bold and it was a shambles. The guy was an idiot who didn’t know how to return phone calls and they took our deposit and 3 weeks later came back and said oh sorry we don’t want to build in your area anymore, I was horrified as there was a coral build that had just been slabbed on the opposite hill to ours 🤦🏼♀️ Class Rox, I just had drafting amend my kitchen plans adding shelves etc and they emailed me for the actual measurements I wanted and had it back to my admin lady in a week, we had already started too. Definitely get onto them. I hope you get good news soon Nikhi, your building in a lovely Estate and that park is cool as. Our house is on display in there so I used to drive up to just stand in it and speak with my salesman Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13781 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 4357 Hi all. Anyone know when the $11,000 limit was set in legislation for renovations in QLD? Ive been renovating for 5 years now and this was the limit back then. As we know,… 0 4252 |
