However the fact they need to come back when the pergola is fixed is making me less anxious so they will need to complete it all then. PCI has obviously been cancelled and that was confirmed by our SS on Monday, instead we have arranged another onsite meeting for Friday to get a progress update. The scaffolding is down but not taken away so they should be able to get on with the driveway very soon. Looks like the internal painter has been too as all the blue spots had been taken down. In the meantime I have sent another complaint of the further delays and damage to ‘sam’ via social media who has assured me ‘it’s being looked into’. Sounds generally positive trimum so good your SS meets to give updates - much more productive and less chances of misunderstanding Re: Our Acacia Home 744Apr 25, 2018 2:39 pm Always good to have face to face meeting with SS, easy to solve any misunderstanding problems. Slowly things are getting done. not long to go trimum. I don't know how long I have to wait for gas to come. Build Thread : viewtopic.php?=31&t=81624 Our Acacia Home 745Apr 27, 2018 2:57 pm Our site visit went ok today, I was more gutted than I thought I would be that we weren’t having PCI but it is what it is. The pergola has not repaired because the SS thought the electrician would be back to do another junction box on the pergola but showed him the electrical plans that there were no more due on there so he will get on with the repairs immediately. The aircon controller has been changed and hole patched Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The holes and divots have been patched in all the rooms on the first floor- not the best effort but I guess that’s all we will get Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ All the varnish has been removed from the front door and all the external painting finished. Driveway is due down next week (though I’ve heard it’s happening ‘next week’ so many times I’m sceptical). Microwave trim is still being ‘chased up’ Our new CSO goes on maternity leave from today and we have no idea who is looking after us now. The saga of the insulation between ground and first floor goes on.....I asked what the update was in that, SS said he had looked into the invoices and job sheets and emails and the contractors were able to ‘verify’ it had happened that the two places we had noticed where there was none must have been when they removed it to put aircon ducting in. I asked how they verify it as emails and invoices didn’t mean a thing, he didn’t have an answer, hubby asked they drill a couple of holes in random places so he could check with a torch because neither of us believed it had been done. SS then had a good idea of popping out a couple of lights and aircon vents downstairs to check if insulation was there, this was an excellent idea! He got his ladder and tried in three random places with the aircon vents...there was NO insulation to be seen. Finally he admitted they could never have done it. He has told us he will sort it out with head office but we will also send our own email too. Anyhow the house inside is looking really good, lots of niggly things have been done now, a few more to go. PCI is rebooked for 25th May and Handover is scheduled for 22nd June. Let’s see if this will happen on those dates!! Re: Our Acacia Home 746Apr 27, 2018 3:15 pm Wow, good on you for chasing that insulation... will you be compensated for it? I can’t believe they still have so many things to still do and you have to wait another two months for keys... you have the patience of a saint! Hope all goes well for these last weeks. - B A vue of the pines on the Gold Coast forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=87210 Re: Our Acacia Home 747Apr 27, 2018 3:21 pm Yes it’s still 8 weeks to wait for keys. If it’s amy longer I will lose my sh1t!! I’m still in contact with ‘sam’ via social media and will keep him/her up to date!! We should get a refund on the insulation which was $1690 plus we are going to push for compensation for the fact it wasn’t done as per contract. Re: Our Acacia Home 748Apr 27, 2018 4:25 pm Hi trimum, glad that you had on site meeting with SS. What a great idea to check for insulation through aircon vent between floors. Yes they should refund what you have paid for. Also happy to know that you have a hand over date. I know the date is far ....but you have a handover date. Build Thread : viewtopic.php?=31&t=81624 Re: Our Acacia Home 749Apr 27, 2018 8:38 pm Thanks shazaw I’m not sure if I am getting tired of the bullsh1t but I was really low on energy for fighting our corner today. I was just about ready to give in with whole insulation thing but I’m so glad hubby wouldn’t let it go and fought. This afternoon after lots and lots of emails and phone calls (by hubby) to and fro, the AM (who now works in HO I believe) finally sent us an email telling us who our new CSO would be and he would be telling the new CSO that they were to take on our case. He also stated that he agreed with our SS that the insulation was not installed and that we would be refunded. Phew at last we have agreement by email! So glad hubby wouldn’t let it go! When we were walking round I noticed the wooden bracket that fixes the pergola to the house was painted grey instead of surfmist. SS said he would have the painter back to paint it the right colour but I said don’t bother it’s ok (it isn’t really it looks a bit odd but I’m past caring). Re: Our Acacia Home 750Apr 27, 2018 8:58 pm Yes at this stage of building I had let go many little things too... Our pillars are not nicely render I can see many uneven areas, 4 kitchen cabinets are 5mm out of line from the 1st to the last one... I have already requested to fix it many times ... now I have let it go... I have my mind focus on main things that are not complete... gas, hot water system and solar power connection. At least you have a handover date to arrange deliveries as for me I can't even book in flooring... Build Thread : viewtopic.php?=31&t=81624 Our Acacia Home 752Apr 28, 2018 5:11 am ehhc give me your SS trimum! He’s ok I’m glad we have a good relationship with him and that we haven’t had too many changes of SS during our mammoth build he was assigned to our job at framestage - just over a year ago (wow can’t believe we have been at this that long). I wouldn’t want to lose him now because he knows our house so well. One very interesting fact we learnt yesterday...... some Sekisui customers refused to sign over in 2016 and so Sekisui kept them and continued with their builds except that they are project managed by Burbank (our SS is the SS for some of them). However Sekisui is still involved in checking progress and managing their admin. Wish we had known that!! Re: Our Acacia Home 753Apr 28, 2018 6:35 am I made a list of outstanding items several weeks ago and I have been adding and taking some things off. As it stands this is what is outstanding- FRONT DOOR - Front door needs fixing plate BATHROOMS - Silicon around Ensuite Bath - Silicon around upstairs toilet sink LIVING - Slider door handle scratched OUTDOORS - Driveway - Clean external floor tiles (remove blobs of render) - Clean patch of bricks of moss and mould - Pergola damage to be repaired KITCHEN - Microwave trim GUEST - Gyprock patch inside Guest room wardrobe GARAGE - External garage rear door mortar lock TO CHECK (were on list but think these are done) - internal garage framework painted - cabinetry all soft close doors work - removable kitchen board and drainer ordered There is no excuse not to get this tiny list sorted by PCI only 2 big jobs - driveway and pergola repair. SS said he could do it all in 2 weeks but we gave him 4 weeks due to previous track record with getting tradies. That leaves another 4 weeks for them and us to get things organised for handover. We have been overly generous with timings as we don’t want to keep postponing. Our Acacia Home 754Apr 28, 2018 8:18 am trimum ehhc give me your SS trimum! And we also missed the boat to refuse when we realized Burbank nsw didn’t have their license set up yet. Omg imagine not having to deal with the supplier changes and wrong products Re: Our Acacia Home 756Apr 28, 2018 3:59 pm So far I have a very good relationship with my SS. I'm the good cop and hubby is the bad cop. If I need to ask things for my favor ... I do sweet talking and hubby will demands for changing toilets, making sure electrical meter box 3 phase with snip copy of contract .... all communications are on email with cc to AM. Build Thread : viewtopic.php?=31&t=81624 Re: Our Acacia Home 757Apr 29, 2018 10:38 am That’s good shazaw I think me and hubby are much the same, it seems to work ok. I’m getting a quote for removals tomorrow. We have worked out finer details for a time line, SS is going to let us have our carpets installed before handover so I will call them and book a provisional date. We are going to keep the builders on track and they better not come up with anymore excuses! We will arrange to meet with our SS again in two weeks to see how things are progressing! Re: Our Acacia Home 758May 05, 2018 8:44 am Week 68 update: The damaged pergola has had the damage cut out and the frame repaired. There still needs to have blue boards replaced before render and painting is done The driveway which was meant to go down this week has just had more earth dugout. We have been told driveway will be poured on 14th May. It’s due to rain then so probably won’t happen Gyrock has been repaired in the guest room from the electrician damage Tiles have been replaced in the porch that were damaged. Still no news on the mircrowave trim The frustration goes on. 3 weeks to PCI.
