SJD Homes stated this is due to the fact that they did not want to pour the slab in 2017 and leave the pipes exposed over the holiday period. Strange that they told you this... Our slab was poured in December 2017, and then sat there, pipes exposed over the holiday period until they returned to start the frame in February 2018. So either you were Iied to or they didn't take the same level of care for us. Did you also consult with Harvan Design (their drafting company) for the re-design of your house plans? If so I am not surprised that they did not pick up on this design flaw. Our experience with Harvan was pretty bad. They also missed a few things in our house designs that we luckily picked up on in time, but there were a few things that we missed. For example, the positioning of some of our lights were not centred on the plan (luckily our Site Supervisor has let us relocate these). They also did not mark in our drawings that we wanted recessed showers upstairs, and we only discovered this when it was too late. But they DID mark the one downstairs! of course there are legal avenues. You've already mentioned it. Sue them.
