Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Apr 10, 2018 5:29 pm Hi, hoping someone can help us out. We need to desperately renovate our family bathroom. ??Its really small but I desperately need to put in a bath, a shower and preferably either a double vanity or a large enough vanity with one of those trough style basins where I can put two taps. I have 3 kids who seem to almost always have to brush their teeth (or hair!!) all at the same time!!!!?? Measurements are as per the picture below.?? The 1800mm wide wall will have a highlight window.... Signed: stuck mum ?? It’d have to be pretty narrow though. Do you need a toilet? Re: Stuck on small bathroom design 3Apr 10, 2018 9:23 pm Hi, no toilet needed, but really would prefer a seperate bath/shower..... I’m trying to see if I can do like a wet room with the shower head close to the bath, but am struggling with a double vanity.... Re: Stuck on small bathroom design 4Apr 10, 2018 9:51 pm The wet room would take up more space than the combined shower over bath which is why I suggested that instead. How about the wet room along the 1800 wall (so bath against wall then shower) then a glass screen, no door. Then two single vanities against opposing walls. If the bathroom door gets in the way of vanity then make it open outwards instead. Re: Stuck on small bathroom design 5Apr 10, 2018 9:56 pm Or have the glass partition with door in the middle. Kids tend to get water everywhere! Re: Stuck on small bathroom design 7Apr 11, 2018 10:31 pm Thank you both for your suggestions. They are both great and it looks like I am going to have a single vanity with a seperate bath/shower or a double vanity with a shower over bath - can't have both... Re: Stuck on small bathroom design 9Apr 15, 2018 9:21 pm That’s great. Thanks for that. Looks like it’s a great bathroom there. I still really need a bath tub as I have a 4br family home & it’s better for resale in the future. I’m now looking at sinking the bath, putting some sort of grate/timber ? Over the top which will be removable & then still have the shower over the bath. Just researching what kind of timber to use as a grate over the top. This will give me a spacious bathroom with the double vanity needed. Fingers crossed 🤞🏼 Re: Stuck on small bathroom design 10Apr 19, 2018 11:22 am Best you'll get is something like below. Bath 750mm wide, shower 900mm wide leaves only 800 for vanity. If that 550mm rectangle is a linen cupboard, maybe take that our and that makes your vanity a nice 1200mm wide double vanity.......bit of extra cost but not heaps and will only work if that is a linen cupboard. Am now thinking of a suncjen bath with timber treads over the top and shower overhead - this will give me heaps of room , keep my linen cupboard & get a lovely big vanity. Could be worth the extra costs as it may deliver what we need. Hi all, We are looking to build a new two storey house in western Sydney. Can anyone recommend a smallish builder to go with?
