Hello everyone
I posted this in another section but thought it would be more relevant (or accurate) in here.
My name is Steve. My fiancé and I have decided to take the plunge and build our first home and we have opted for Clarendon as our builder.
We purchased our unregistered block of land in November last year and it is due to be registered by June, with building to commence around late July or early August.
Our plans have been finalised and we’re now at the stage of choosing our bricks in preparation for our Colour Studio appointment in 3 weeks time. Brick choosing is a lot harder and more frustrating than I ever thought it would be haha! We cannot decide between Orpheus or Blackbutt from Austral or Espresso or Blackheath from PGH. Every house with these colours looks totally different, it’s impossible to decide. We fell in love with Mowbray Blue but we are not paying the $20k premium that these command!!
Here is a photo of our finalised floor plan We started with the Darley 23 & the Carlton facade.

The biggest change was extending the width by 1m and increasing the porch size from 800mm to 1500mm in depth.
All the other alterations were pretty minor such as changing the built-ins to sliding doors, adding cavity sliding doors (en-suite & pantry to kitchen), flipping the linen cupboard so it opens into the MPR rather than the laundry as we wanted to maximise usable space in the laundry, and adding a bulkhead in the theatre room.
Any-who, just saying hello and hopefully start a little discussion regarding our build of what to look out for, things to ask, tips & tricks etc.
Thanks
