I've modified my single storey sketchup and raised it by an extra 3meters. You can see the shadow lines below in the middle of summer. I am building in Melbourne west. Oh I see that makes sense so in that case it will only make a difference in the window of the first floor. I've got a west facing window on my living room on the ground floor and checking if it's necessary to extend the eaves just to reduce heat in the area. Re: 450 versus 600mm eaves 7Apr 13, 2018 8:50 am Use this site to calculate the angle for your area - find your location - zoom in - set the date and also time - set the height so you can see the shadow line (default value is 1m) With a bit of maths you can calculate the the angle and hence the shadow lines for any eaves depth you might think of Versaloc is a mortarless besser block system that still needs a properly engineered footing. If you just do a 400x200 footing it will fail in time.
