Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Hilbert HGWA Build 152Mar 21, 2018 3:36 pm We had a last minute tile meeting today, which was lucky as today is our only day off so I was happy that HGWA could accomodate. Spoke with our SS and reconfirmed our choices and got to walk around inside and look at the cabinets. The main floor tiles look so good! Can’t wait to see them laid. He thinks it’ll take two weeks for tiling as we’ve choose 900x150 rectified porcelain tiles which are time consuming to lay. Once tiles are complete he estimates 6 weeks to practical completion. Re: Hilbert HGWA Build 155Mar 22, 2018 12:55 am So glad your tile meeting worked out on you day off. PCI end of May sounds reasonable. Re: Hilbert HGWA Build 156Mar 27, 2018 7:43 pm Main floor tiling started today. Love the tile but they have laid them vertically instead of horizontally like we asked doesn’t look bad, just not what we asked so it’s a bit disappointing. Just going to leave it given they’ve been glued onto the slab already. Re: Hilbert HGWA Build 159Mar 28, 2018 9:14 am We have a similar tile and wanted laid vertically in the hallways but that means by the time you get to the main living area they will be horizontal as you can’t change the direction you are laying them - well you could but it would look odd, maybe that’s what happened with yours? Looks great though! Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense.
