Though you will need to simplify the roof line but let's see what you have got first. Cheers Designer,Engineer (Civil,Const & Envir),Builder,Concrete & Masonry Contract.Struct Repairs Re: Joining timber frame extension to brick veneer house 6Mar 15, 2018 9:02 pm Thanks for your feedback. Am going the yard excavated and the slab poured and a few weeks so will have a nice flat surface to work on. Initially thought about going brick veneer, but decided after looking at some other place that we can make it work without it looking weird. I do have leftover bricks from pulling out the 90's bar in the living area so could lay a course on the slab for the doors to sit on. The roofline extends straight out from the current roof. and meetw the garage roof at the end. There will be a box gutter between the two. Currently, the house has standard trusses. Have attached a google maps pic as well as a couple of pics of the back of the house where you can also see the garage wall. The brick extends all the way to the ridgeline, on all walls Thanks so much again for your advice. Before we get to the trusses you will need to sort out the Siteworks and Footings. I would recommend "brick veneer" major advantages are

You can easily update you building permits ( OT...Engineers do it all the time when we look for alternate better Design,Engineering & Construction solutions by analyzing proofs using Data Optimization, etc, etc) I have the engineering plans for the footers and also DA approval, currently the plans have rafters, I have asked them to update to scissor trusses will PM engineering plans to you if that's OK. On a tight budget so trying to avoid extra costs by going weatherboard, although there probably isn't alot of bricks required. Will have a bricklayer quote and see how I go. Thanks again. So won't need beam changes. I'm smart enough to back away from this fight, I have already had so many wins on this project, I better not push it! Plans were created by a draftsman and separate engineer, don't know what software they used. I guess the only remaining questions are
