I have tried unscrewing the screw at the base- no go as its still attached to the wall by two internal screws that I cant get to. The two internal screws cant be accessed as the glass panels prevent this. There are no other screws on the outside and the glass doesnt seem to slide out of the way. The black part appears to be one whole piece. If it was my place I would just replace it, but as not would like to change the bulb as we have no outoside light! Does the exposed screw allow you to drop the bottom out or is there a screw perhaps hidden in that top finial (bulgy bit) that allows that to lift off. I know you said it appear to be one piece, but light fitting companies generally aren’t in the business of testing your cognitive skills . Changing a bulb outdoor light 3Mar 08, 2018 7:14 pm Now that I look at it again, I see a rubber seal between the cast outer and the white mounting plate. Are you certain that when you undo the bottom screw the entire cast section (with glass) doesn’t pull away from the mounting plate, or even hinge up the top somewhere leaving the bulb easily accessible?
