Next stage is bricks...hopefully they get delivered soon! Our brick work started last week, and is completed up-to the level which can be achieved without scaffolding. This week scaffolding is expected to be finished and following mid-week bricklayers are expected to be back on site. In absence of Michael, Aron has taken over the supervision in interim. We have heard great things about Aron and he is also one of the partners and construction manager in BBH.. They are currently in process of recruiting externally (kind-of making us nervous but hopefully all turns out well in Aron's guidance). Well we are a bit disappointed due to the slowness but every progress counts. Hope to see some catch-up in the following months. Here goes the picture updates. Are you also building with BBH? Are you also building with BBH? Thanks for that. Was it much of a cost from a standard selection brick? I’m building with NuTrend on the Gold Coast. Re: Our Home Journey with BetterBuilt Homes 9Apr 13, 2018 1:36 pm We were lucky to find these bricks within the standard selection. Re: Our Home Journey with BetterBuilt Homes 10Apr 13, 2018 1:46 pm indu.singh0602 We were lucky to find these bricks within the standard selection. That’s good. Looking on austral they might be around $300 per 1000 bricks more than the standard ones we have to pick from but I’ll know for sure on a Monday. House will look good when it’s finished 👍🏻 Re: Our Home Journey with BetterBuilt Homes 12Apr 14, 2018 10:17 am krusade25 Looking great! So happy to see you progressing well. Thanks Krusade, just cannot wait to see the house finished 😊. Re: Our Home Journey with BetterBuilt Homes 13Apr 15, 2018 9:45 am indu.singh0602 krusade25 Looking great! Roof is nearly finished as well. Building a house is never easy but we feel so pleased to be in good hands. The level of professionalism and assurance under Aaron's supervision is phenomenal. We are building 330 m2. Good luck on your construction plans. Re: Our Home Journey with BetterBuilt Homes 17Jun 02, 2018 4:39 pm 2 June 2018: Here is what has gone by in last few weeks. - Lower roof completed - Cladding work in progress - Render work in progress - AC rough-in completed - Inspections completed (I wonder if we will get to see the inspection reports!) We are a bit concerned about the speed of construction and most importantly the level of communication. A new site supervisor has been appointed and we are advised not to directly reach out to SS. We are now receiving weekly emails from backoffice, I would rather prefer speaking with SS once a week, it gives us an opportunity to ask questions and generally get on top of things. Otherwise we are very pleased the way the house selections have gone so far, hopefully render colour and garage sinks-in the overall theme of the house. Here are the picture updates... As much as we try, we still end-up us obsessing about it. Our new building SS is trying to pull the job up-to speed, it is still a bit annoying that we are not supposed to contact him but it is good to see that the daily updates are flowing timely. It feels like we are so close but yet still a bit far from the final move, there are still a list things to go and we are keeping our fingers crossed for the construction to complete successfully soon. Here is a list of developments from the last update: · Insulation completed · Cladding finished · Gyp-locking and internal wall lining finished · Fit-out delivered (garage door, other doors, skirting etc.) · Fix out carpenter to start this week · Wet areas waterproofing finished · Water tank installed · Cladding Complete · Downlight cut-outs in progress Here are the picture updates… Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Our Home Journey with BetterBuilt Homes 19Jun 27, 2018 4:58 pm mjforeverhome Hi indu, how's the progress of your build? We've just signed with BBH, still in early stages but very excited to finally have selected our builder! Hi mjforeverhome apologies for a delayed response. Congratulations mjforeverhome, I can understand your excitement, choosing a builder is never easy and no builder is perfect. Our experience with BBH is positive so far, there has been a few issues but they do get looked after easily. I personally feel there were a few delays made in our submissions but I know they have made changes in their customer experience department since then. So hopefully it goes a bit faster for your-self. Overall we feel happy with the builder however we are still in the process same as you and we still feel nervous about how the whole thing is going to go. Good luck andhappy building... Cheers, Re: Our Home Journey with BetterBuilt Homes 20Jul 09, 2018 9:20 pm This is a phase of day dreaming, things are taking shape, walls are coming alive, floor has started to look like that beauty we imagined in the colortile studio. This update is a combined after missing a few past weeks:
We have to build $$$retaining wall$$$ as a council condition, hopefully the landscaper should start in another 10 days or so. You've already mentioned it. Sue them. I find it odd that lawyers wouldnt be willing to take on the case, given CCT evidence and… 1 24738 |
