Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We had paid for brick infills above our stacker doors but we will still ended up with a significant gap of around 70mm of non-brick infill between the top of the stacker door and the bricks. (M’s tolerance is 85mm which is around the height of a standard brick with some mortar above and below.) In hindsight, part of the reason for our significant gap might be that we rebated the slab by around 40mm deep for the stacker doors. So if you’re building with brick and rebating the slab for the stacker doors, you may want to consider how it might affect any brick infills above the stacker doors and whether you can look into adjusting the stacker doors height or rebate depth to minimise the gap. (Our stacker doors were 2370mm high.) Metricon Liberty 45, Ryde NSW http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=82846 So what is going to be in that gap now? Surely they can’t leave it empty? It’s just frustrating that a few more millimetres and we could have fit an extra row of bricks How come your bifold doors have a few rows of bricks below them? Metricon Liberty 45, Ryde NSW http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=82846[/quote] Because according to M our sight had a slope and so when they did the cut and fill before they lay the slab they cut a fair bit from the back yard! To be honest we didn’t think it was required... As we wanted to avoid steps at the back we’ve filled it back up during landscaping. The deck now comes right up to line up with the top of the bricks. Is there some standard or allowable tolerance about this ? Or will we need to go to Bunnings later and get a rubber strip to attach to the bottom of the door ? In laundry, I have an aluminium and rubber strip on the floor which seals the opening when the door is closed. That way rain (or insects) can’t come in. Photo of my door below.
