Awesome thanks guys. Appreciated. Have asked my sc to include both.
I have got quoted roof sarking at 2000$ for a 49 squares house.
Did you do any upgrade to the insulation or you left it at what they are giving.

Porter Davis only give tiles and colorbond is an addition, is it worth going to colorbond and is it worth doing roof sarking, have heard colorbond makes it warmer during summer. I am putting a whirlybird does that make any difference ..? Thanks see more at hoffmangoldwithporterdavis.wordpress.com Re: Porter Davis homes 16411Feb 17, 2018 2:56 pm Hurrow For anyone who is looking at getting electricals for their home, it looks like Samsung and Hisense at least are coming out with their new TV models so the current ones are all going on sale. As an added bonus Harvey Norman give you 10% of the purchase value in gift vouchers if you spend over $250, so basically another 10% off. We picked up a 55in HiSense for the rumpus room last night as well as some Arlo Pro 2 security cameras which never go on sale but in this instance have the 10% in gift vouchers. Same prices as at JB HiFi but with 10% in gift cards sounds like a pretty good deal to me! In other news they appear to have done at least one coat of render to the front of our house so we have a better idea of what it will actually look like. Hopefully only a few weeks till PCI! see more at hoffmangoldwithporterdavis.wordpress.com Re: Porter Davis homes 16412Feb 17, 2018 5:38 pm brucefil2011 Fongeo What roof ..? G Re: Porter Davis homes 16414Feb 17, 2018 6:54 pm Charly6s My latest blog has been posted, it's called Let there be light. https://forsyth35blog.wordpress.com/2018/02/17/let-there-be-light/ This covers the electrical plans with Porter Davis and Argus Electrical. I have also shared all the electrical pricing I have been given, this includes pricing for underfloor heating and the cost or the different sized bathrooms. All the Speaker, projector, NBN, and networking packages that are offered are listed. Along with the individual line items of everything that went into our house. Hopefully, this will help others with budgeting and you enjoy the read. Cheers C. Another great post Charly, thanks for that! $4k in electrical for a 2 story house seems a ridiculously low estimate by your SC, our SC put in $5k plus $2k for the NBN ready stuff which included 4 sets of two data and tv points and that's for a single story house. We did consider putting in more of each but ended up just leaving it as is, so TV points in the Master, Theatre, Lounge and Rumpus rooms. It's bad for kids to have TVs in their rooms anyway right? We also didn't do much with downlights etc except in the living areas which I think a lot of people spend money on. We thought about doing all the pre-wiring for the theatre room at least but in the end I decided to go with a Sonos system instead, so no wiring required although you do still need the power points for each speaker and the sub. Plus that way to add anything on anywhere in the house at a later date we just need to buy more speakers and add them on. The Porter Davis charge of $520.72 seemed really expensive for 5.1 pre-wiring for basically running twenty or thirty metres of cable! PD didn't seem to have much in the way of smart home stuff or what they did have seemed really expensive. We're going to be doing Arlo cameras, the Sonos system and potentially a Ring doorbell. We may also look into some Hue lightbulbs or the equivalent at some point. Re: Porter Davis homes 16416Feb 18, 2018 8:55 am Morning All, I advised our SS that we would be having at independent inspector at PCI and this was the response. "I will let you know when the pci date will be but before I book in a date you will have to get the your independent through. I must have your independent report at pci. After I receive this and we go through his items and your pci I will advise a approx. handover date, I cant give you a handover date until all this has happened. I will advise you a date to get your independent through when the house is completed" Does this seem right? The whole idea of PCI is that they are saying the house is complete, but he wants our private inspector to come through before PCI and tell him what's wrong so he can rectify it before PCI. In a way I'm happy about this as the sooner it's done the better but at the same time I think it shouldn't be our inspector that has to tell him what needs to be done. Thoughts? I think our SS wants the Darbecca inspection before PCI as well, but it's just one day before. That way he can get to work on both the structural stuff that Darbecca focuses on as well as the visual stuff that will want fixed as well (assuming there is much, it's actually been a pretty good job so far). And I could have it the wrong way round as well, he might want the Darbecca inspection the day after official PCI. We've had waaaay more communication with our SS than you have though and the build has been pretty smooth so I'm not worried whether it's a day before or after.
