Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Custom build - BRISBANE - First home 121Feb 12, 2018 9:20 pm I sent an email while at work to the builder - and said she'll pass the message on to the new guy. Not really filling me with too much confidence. Apparently the new SS will introduce himself once he is up to speed with our build. I've already sent pics to our private inspector - to make sure they just didnt put the roof on top.. will go see the block after work this week to see if anything has been done. Re: Custom build - BRISBANE - First home 124Feb 12, 2018 9:35 pm where are they building? yeah seems like Valeco have gone through quite a number of them over the past 6 months alone! Definitely worth the investment of a private inspector. Re: Custom build - BRISBANE - First home 125Feb 12, 2018 9:56 pm Good thinking updating your certifier, crossing fingers and toes your new ss is fast paced and a go getter. A mid week site visit is great (take pics) I don’t know how your so restrained. I went to our block this morning to see if we need to mow it Re: Custom build - BRISBANE - First home 126Feb 12, 2018 10:04 pm tribe7 ahhaha! well our neighbours arent the nicest people in the world, so we try not to run into them by going all the time. But i don't want to go there and be disappointed that nothing is done. meanwhile im obsessed with this garden... can't remember which display home this was, but i want this for our place.. all of it lol Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Custom build - BRISBANE - First home 127Feb 12, 2018 10:24 pm I hope your neighbours will be kind and considerate and welcome you to the hood, maybe they are just a little ruffled with a build happening next door
The lack of not knowing what has happened that day would kill me, I’m inpatient in my old age The garden looks awesome and the plants are all simple to grow and require no maintenance, you can totally do this Gr8ly. Re: Custom build - BRISBANE - First home 130Feb 13, 2018 12:50 pm chrinee Shame aboutt the neighbours We're friendly! Is your PI k-spec..? We are going with all-inspect look them up, they seem really professional and come with plenty of positive reviews.. plus they were reasonably priced. What street will you guys be on? Re: Custom build - BRISBANE - First home 131Feb 13, 2018 2:33 pm Hi gr8ly, I have heard there is some issues with retaining wall in ellendale? have you had any dramas ? People have complained that water has been gushing out their retaining walls(built by ellendale). There is a Facebook page for Ellendale build where you can see these videos. Re: Custom build - BRISBANE - First home 132Feb 13, 2018 2:59 pm Hey ashwin. I think the whole situation is a little exaggerated.. It's a brand new estate, so there is bound to be issues in the beginning.. especially considering it is still a construction site. I personally haven't encountered anything like that yet. However the estate has been marketed as premium, so im sure they will work to fix any issues if it continues. What street are you building in? However if my block had issues, i definitely would be raising it with the estate. Re: Custom build - BRISBANE - First home 133Feb 13, 2018 3:18 pm Hello gr8ly , I am still waiting for the settlement of our land, we are building in stage 2B, CASACADE place. I was wondering how the complaints were handled. Some have definitely exaggerated it but I thought it was one off until I saw another resident raised the same issue. I am quite sure the Ellendale will fix it this problem, they are waiting to sell many lots in future and if this problem is not fixed it will affect their sales. Re: Custom build - BRISBANE - First home 134Feb 13, 2018 4:15 pm yeah exactly! Plus many of them have already moved in.. but the adjoining lots may be still empty or still under construction (with no drainage) which is not helping the water flow. I'll be interested to see what the estate does to rectify it anyway. Settlement can't be too far away.. Who are you building with? Re: Custom build - BRISBANE - First home 135Feb 13, 2018 5:38 pm We are building with plantation home as of now, we were Intially looking at BOLD living builders. But they are being tough to deal with. They have mentioned that settlement could be in April or May. So yeah not far. Re: Custom build - BRISBANE - First home 136Feb 13, 2018 10:07 pm Wow cool photo! I love drone photos they are soo interesting! Shame about your neighbours. Pretty crappy that they arent nice. Re: Custom build - BRISBANE - First home 137Feb 13, 2018 10:11 pm hey allblaqk i'm still learning how to use it.. i keep worrying it will fall out of the sky lol. Need to take better ones once i learn how to use it. Meanwhile in other news, our insulation was replaced, and roof completed Most of our windows have also been installed downstairs. Yay progress! Re: Custom build - BRISBANE - First home 138Feb 13, 2018 10:13 pm Yay thats awesome. And what a relief they replaced the insulation. thats great news! Re: Custom build - BRISBANE - First home 140Feb 14, 2018 10:16 am We are going for an industrial/scandi/contemporary feel. We are going very monotone - so crisp whites and greys - probably won't be to everyone's taste, but we are using tasmanian oak features for the kitchen and bathrooms to warm up the space. We have chosen some of our pendant lights already - will need to find pictures and post. We are also featuring a custom made black LED strip light for the ensuite. Hopefully it looks as good as it does in my head. I'd get the gutters to match your roof and pipes to match the paint - otherwise they become a feature. Nice pick with the paint colours! 1 35089 6 57365 Soak wells and electrical run in happening this week! Summit has told me they will relocate the laundry plumbing after the walls are completed. I'm actually pretty happy… 13 36875 |
