Hi everyone,
We just purchased a block of land in Capestone - Mango Hill and are deciding which builder to go with. We are leaning towards Bold as per recommendation from a friend (whose company is Bold's partner). We are very keen on floor plan Calypso 189 as the block is only 375m2 and we can only use 50% of the land for internal area.
We are first home buyers and know nothing about building whatsoever (it is scaring the hell out of me:s). I have gone through some threads here and would love to hear any feedback/experience from any one who built/are building with Bold.
We are quoted Coastal facade for $6700 incl cement render. However, I have read some comments that cement render is prone to cracking and high maintenance. I don't want to have render but my partner does. Having said that, the coastal facade might look really weird without rendering so I am very torn now. Any advice?
Also, have any one seen a Coastal facade? Does it really look nice as in the picture they show? (I am not really impressed with the idea of painted RHS Steel posts and have no idea what they look like in real life as I haven't seen one).
Here is the Calyso 189 floor plan. We are recommended to extend our Family area width by 300mm (from 3.3m to 3.6m) and alfresco area slab only by 500mm to make it look bigger. My partner said 300mm will not make any difference and thinking not to go ahead with the extension. I don't agree with that but I have no proof to convince him otherwise. Thoughts?

A few hiccups with bank valuation but finally got approved by another lender for the land. Now just wait for the final approval letter to submit before finace date and wait for the developer on the title rego.
Some small issues with Bold after the color selection as we had to downgrade our package due to bank valuation. It was resolved pretty quickly thanks to the Sales Manager. The family room has to stay as it was. No more coastal facade and a few other things. Sad but there’s nothing we can do when we don’t have cash and rely on the bank to build.
Color selection completed. Waiting for the revised tender to come back prob next week.
