If possible do it at night for the best result. Re: Building with Metricon 6870Feb 11, 2018 11:09 am This is a prime example showing that Metricon do not check their work to assure quality. The labour for this task is skilled and expensive. They would prefer customers use their own time and money to check and project manage the repairs (big and small), preferably after payment and handover. Makes us think that Metricon is not actually a building company. A builder would take more care and have some pride in their work. From our experience, Metricon is a sales and marketing 'shell' company that simply issues work orders to contractors on their workflow app. If you find any problems they will promise to fix them later...!!! There are no real 'builders' at Metricon. The most attention to detail we have experienced at Metricon has been before contract signing and when they issued us progress payment invoices via post and email, with multiple sms and phone message reminders. If possible do it at night for the best result. Use a small directional light source with a narrow beam like a high power led torch or a bicycle light to check for marks and imperfections. In addition, I suggest a 2m straight edge, a carpenters square and some 'Macsim' plastic window packers to check for variations in the plasterboard walls and ceilings (see pics). I suggest doing this well before you pay Metricon. My inspector and I found surface variations well beyond the Australian standards at my build, which Metricon has refused to acknowledge. They hope you won't check! Norfolk Re: Building with Metricon 6872Feb 11, 2018 6:18 pm Thanks all for your input. I’ll have to have a chat with the CM tomorrow as I don’t have a SM anymore. They’re really eager for PC to happen so this will be a good time to fix it. Norfolk Thanks for the tip. My inspector did those thing during the fixing inspection. This is a good link. https://youtu.be/mcF166IzC4U Re: Building with Metricon 6874Feb 11, 2018 10:21 pm Mine did too. My inspector was surprised by how straight the plaster was. Any faults that’s in the plaster my ss pretty much labeled them for fixing on his own. We didn’t have to tell him. He says usually by the 2nd coat you can see all the faults. He usually does the third coat of painting once all the plaster is fixed. There’s only minor faults on the plaster thou. viewtopic.php?t=86597 Re: Building with Metricon 6875Feb 13, 2018 7:25 am Hi All
An update from us....our Electrical pit is in, power is abolished, now awaiting gas and NBN. We have nearly completed emptying everything in the house. We need to go to the tip to get rid of some items. For those of you that moved out, How did you manage to clear everything in your house. Also did anyone have a pre demolition sale? If so, how did it go and is it worth having one, did u put up the pics on gumtree? We are now trying to get the loan finalised, valuation was done last week. Demolition permit has been received and we also received the report and consent and sewer n drainage plans, did anyone request to make any changes to drainage plans? We forgot to put the gas meter to the front of the house outside the side gate ...is it too late to change this location and where did everyone put their gas meters? Hi ...NBN called today n are charging in excess of 300 for removing their box that was installed last year. Did anyone have to pay to abolish NBN. We are not even connected to NBN yet as it will be rolled out in June 2018. Building with Metricon 6879Feb 18, 2018 10:46 am Concerned!! Re: Building with Metricon 6880Feb 18, 2018 12:53 pm Renman Concerned!! How have you found the water pressure in a large 45+ sqm house with 3-4+ showers? I tried turning all the water tapes and shower in the house and some of the outlets were barely trickling out water ? Oh that sucks, does the pressure get generated from the house or council area water pipes?
