Baby will arrive first... not really sure how long the build will take - unofficially they have said 16 weeks (next week is week 4), but we shall see!

Browse Forums Building A New House Re: A vue of the pines on the Gold Coast 552Feb 07, 2018 6:30 pm Seems to be a common theme for a lot of builds unfortunately... Re: A vue of the pines on the Gold Coast 553Feb 07, 2018 8:12 pm I think you should realise that people won't start the day after items get delivered on the build throughout. If you are expecting that throughout the build you are in for a bit of a rough ride I think... Tradies have to finish one job before they start the next and if items aren't delivered when they are ready then the builder is paying them to stand around and do nothing so expect items to be delivered a few days early. If you bother the SS to much early on you'll find communication will be bad through the build. But everything is just sitting there, waiting... and they did almost nothing last week! I don’t think I’m asking too much to just be kept in the loop by my SS. We don’t have walls, but we have a bath?! Like, what the??!?! Build progress also depends how busy your builder is with other builds.. coral are notoriously quick.. a lot of coral homes that have started way after ours, are all nearly at lock up or at lock up and we are just past the frame stage.. frustrating. Apparently after lock-up is when builds tend to slow when they do the finishing touches. Re: A vue of the pines on the Gold Coast 556Feb 08, 2018 10:20 pm Hello lovelies! Can anyone tell me if it is a building requirement for your laundry to have a floor waste in QLD? I thought it was, but we don't seem to have a pipe for one in our slab!? Re: A vue of the pines on the Gold Coast 557Feb 08, 2018 10:24 pm Bridgetwitch Hello lovelies! Can anyone tell me if it is a building requirement for your laundry to have a floor waste in QLD? I thought it was, but we don't seem to have a pipe for one in our slab!? Just looked at our plans and we don’t have one either, so probably not? Re: A vue of the pines on the Gold Coast 558Feb 08, 2018 10:41 pm I know with plantation it is not standard and its an extra to add in, I believe that its not a requirement Re: A vue of the pines on the Gold Coast 559Feb 09, 2018 9:27 am Agree with Allblaqk, it is not a standard requirement. Metricon do add them as we had one but not a lot of builders do. Great to see your frames all laid out, have they started to erect the walls? Re: A vue of the pines on the Gold Coast 560Feb 09, 2018 11:08 am Thanks guys... hope my laundry never gets flooded! They are putting up walls, but my hallway to main bedroom/media has a wall when it should be a void! I joked to hubby we will need to climb through a window to get to that part of the house! They are on site again today, so hoping they realise their mistake (it’s pretty obvious!). We also have roof trusses delivered, so it will be interesting to see how much they get done today!
