I think we picked that facade to make the house seem bigger than it is haha. the daydream is such a beautiful house, the front has impact without needing some fancy facade anyways. we are planning to do driveway, aircon, landscaping, patio tiling, shutters/blinds after handover. I think for anything else we are probably too lazy for haha, although we REALLY wanted soft closed cupboards, but just alone for the kitchen was CRAZY so we will hopefully get a family friend to install that feature for us i checked my colours pre selection guide (dated july 2017) and it seems double moondust is standard, and single is still an upgrade. no idea how that works! oh thats annoying about the SS saying things will be done by a date, and you drive out that way and its not. that would annoy me SO much, our drive out will have tolls Hopefully your bricks start soon, such a bummer CC7 may I suggest double checking if it's worth doing the driveway after handover? My sales rep kept trying to say that it might be worth doing later, however we worked it out to I think 90/sqm for their quote which is actually really reasonable for the quotes I got for exposed aggregate. The advantage of going with the builder is that it comes under their warranty then. just a thought, We haven't got our final contract yet so we are a fair bit further behind everyone here but I read the same suggestion in the Things you forgot thread thanks for that! when we were doing the tender up, we asked, and my partner said he had some quotes from driveway companies for around 100/sqm, and i've just asked him what our Coral Rep said theirs were, and he said like 150 /sqm we had a few coral people tell us usually getting driveway down after is cheaper. But i mean... we aren't going to have our driveway down when we move in, so if we don't line it up nicely there may be some not so nice muddy tyre marks in the clean garage floor haha how great is that things you forget thread! I have to look at it again this week as it was a few months ago i went through it all. One of the things is we made sure that our man hole in the garage was actual in a useful spot. I had read on that thread that they had their manhole moved to the garage ceiling, but because of the angle/peaks of their roof, it was a smaller tradie that would fit in there. So hopefully since we have it in the tender it will be placed in a practicable point haha We have been fairly prepared for everything, but electrical not so much... Oh ok, I don't know why ours was quoted so cheap then! maybe just the different house or the flatness of our block? not sure but I guess I'm grateful. Yeah I did read that most of the time it's better to do after too so I guess you're all over it Yep that thread has been really useful, going to final contract on the 6th of feb and feeling pretty confident that we haven't missed anything we'll regret too much! Yeah I have felt the same about electrical, have tried to ask questions/quotes and was told we just have to wait until the clipsal appointment. We did put a huge amount in for the expected appointment so hopefully we've overdone it rather than under. That's a good point about the manhole, I'd forgotten that one... might have to call my rep haha! That's a good point about the manhole, I'd forgotten that one... might have to call my rep haha! yes we tried to put as much in before too, for our first appointment with our SR we had a massive list of what we wanted, and had already picked the brains of many staff at display homes, and went through all the forums. One thing i KNEW i wanted, was to raise the height on the wardrobes (to match the raised ceilings) and their doors. But that came from living in houses were i struggled to be able to fit bigger items through the gap to truly use all that space that sits above the shelf. We had asked our Sales Rep if anyone had done it before, and she said the second person, and the first person was the same week haha, I think it's something people may not think about. pot drawers were another. so its all about knowing what works for you in your current home... or what really ticks you off haha. i don't think we put much towards that electrical appointment in terms of money, so we are expecting to blow it out. We will sit down this week with the A3 plan and work out where we REALLY want power and lights. Really clueless, we haven't worked out how much better it would be to supply our own lights, to be honest, i dont even want to know how many different types of downlights there are, and what wats etc. Re: Daydream 30 Week 10- Bricks and Plaster. 238Jan 22, 2018 12:29 pm Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Just went out for a little look and the brickies either worked on Saturday or they have a damn rocket up their ***! The bricks are that high nearly the whole way around the house! Will get better photos tonight or tomorrow for those wanting to see moondust. Re: Daydream 30 Week 10- Bricks and Plaster. 240Jan 22, 2018 2:48 pm WOW! I didn't expect to see it that high, how wonderful!!! Is that the standard mortar or the off-white? totally sold on the double moondust for us now. we went out to the brick yard and my partner said 'i really love that, but i guess we'll see how much of an upgrade it is or just get the standard height' then i told him double height is standard, so he's over the moon haha the doubt gives such a nice look (compared to the single height of your neighbours) Hi Everyone I learned something this week that I thought would be worth sharing.
