It's all going very fast now. We are meeting our SS on Monday and hopefully he can give us an idea of when he expects completion. The tiling is half complete, waiting to finish after the cabinetry is all installed, which should be today. All the electrical is done except the range hood. Garage door is installed. Not sure when the flooring will start, but that is about all that is left. They will need to do another coat of paint. Can anyone give me an idea of how long the last things take from cabinetry being installed? I know we will have about a 4 week wait for the stone bench tops. We are not a good example to go by....our cabinetry went in in August and our house still isn’t finished. 🤷🏻♀️ Re: Porter Davis homes 16110Jan 17, 2018 4:53 pm Waldorf_Grange_Build nikil Stopped at our house this morning and the kitchen was being installed. Or combine our houses to have a slab and a frame plus 1 finished house.... see more at hoffmangoldwithporterdavis.wordpress.com Re: Porter Davis homes 16112Jan 17, 2018 7:43 pm Had a bitumen company out this morning to measure driveways and paths so we can be ready post hand over. With every trade we have discussed post handover they want to be last and have said how other trades will stuff up thier work. Each company should just make sure they respect all of your property. see more at hoffmangoldwithporterdavis.wordpress.com Re: Porter Davis homes 16113Jan 17, 2018 8:03 pm nikil Stopped at our house this morning and the kitchen was being installed. I think different site supervisors do things in different orders. We have our kitchen and bathroom cabinets in but tiling won't start for another week or so, same with painting and electrical hasn't been touched apart from the rough in a while back. We're now being told completion in April/May rather than March/April as it was previously. We are meeting him Monday for a walk through and I’ll be going to the house Sunday to make a list of anything I am not happy with. Tiling being the main thing, it’s not done well at all. Hopefully he can give us an idea of when it will be all finished. Our contract ends March 17th. Re: Porter Davis homes 16115Jan 17, 2018 9:26 pm Bugger! The water meters have been placed right in front of our front door about 1.5m from where I wanted them! Gurrrrr This is not the end, they may have won the battle but I'm not giving up. Next stop - the council. I'm on the warpath. Why would they do that when it is very clear you didn't want them there. At what stage do they put the taps in. I may need to go and camp out at our site so I can tell them where they should go! Good luck with the walk through, hopefully they get everything sorted out for you ASAP! What penalty rates do you have in your contract? I saw your other post on budgeting, love it! Our spreadsheet isn't quite as detailed as yours and we have a bunch of worksheets which all feed into the one summary sheet to keep it slightly cleaner, whatever works I figure! You're killing me with the Defanitly in column though instead of Definitely in. Sorry, I'm that annoying guy on the internet who corrects people spelling mistakes! You might need to request a plug and re-tap ie. move the connection point/ water meter somewhere else. Ours was positioned in the middle of the driveway - ridiculous really. So we are meeting with the water company and developer today to see what can be done to move it without costing a bomb!
