Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Lucere estate at Leppington 33Jan 12, 2018 12:13 pm Hi Sandeep, I think our land registered in September from memory. We put our deposit down in April last year, so we had quite a short wait for our registration but the land had been selling for quite a long time before that. Cheers, Sarah Re: Lucere estate at Leppington 34Jan 18, 2018 12:05 pm Hi All, I purchased my H & L at the end of 2015. The DA was approved in December. I am building with Rawson. I am just waiting for the slab to go down. This is my first house, I WAS very excited but I cant believe how long it takes! Then to wait another 10 months they have given them selves to build this house. Im just so over it. The excitement is gone... Has anyone built with Rawson before? Re: Lucere estate at Leppington 35Jan 18, 2018 2:28 pm Hey Belinda, you must have bought in one of the first releases! I agree the excitement has died a little with all the waiting. At least now progress will move more quickly and be more than just moving dirt around. The Christmas shutdown is really frustrating because it's so long (though Thrive seemed to have people working last week when I drove past). It's really obvious that Thrive are pushing themselves to get their products out there much quicker but Rawson being more established have more internal process and are taking longer each step of the way (with the exception of Sarah who seems to have been given a dud of a Thrive pre-construction coordinator). I really hope all this process and waiting results in a good quality product. Re: Lucere estate at Leppington 36Jan 19, 2018 8:22 am Welcome Belinda - which lot are you building on? i definitely agree with the excitement having faded - not only have we been dudded with a not-so-great pre-construction advisor, our DA application has now been allocated to three separate Assessment Officers at Council... so our wait continues. the latest is that our application can't be expedited because of the way the house is set on the block (we are on a corner so obviously it isn't as straightfoward as some applications). We have been told it will be done by early in February now, so we are just hanging in there. It is promising to see some of the houses going up already though Re: Lucere estate at Leppington 37Jan 21, 2018 10:33 am I'm in lot 101. I had a dud reconstruction girl as well. Every time I would talk to her she would say that the slab will go down December, then January then February so i got really mad at her and she had the site supervisor call me. He didn't give me much confidence at all he said ill have the house done by the contact date which is 43 weeks in which I have no idea when that will start! It's just hard as we are holding of having a family until wet have our house but it's being delayed. How long does it usually take to build a house?? Re: Lucere estate at Leppington 38Jan 23, 2018 8:15 am My husband and I are in the exact same position Belinda! When we discussed it at the beginning Thrive said it was a 17 week construction to get the house up - obviously that is only if the weather cooperates. Re: Lucere estate at Leppington 39Jan 24, 2018 7:25 am Also, I had a look last night Belinda and we are going to be neighbours Aaron and I are building on Lot 141 to the left of your block. Re: Lucere estate at Leppington 40Jan 24, 2018 7:43 am oh yay!!! ill bake muffins and we can exchange sugar hahaha did you see they have an office in front of my lot? what on earth is that about!? |
