Re: Coral Homes general build thread 10315Jan 11, 2018 10:28 pm Corallake Cape Hi does anyone have an idea what Coral charges you daily/weekly for going over your proposed start date? Unfortunately they have some sort of formula that is never explained clearly. Is the hold up because the land has not been registered or is it something that is your responsibility? Generally if it is out of your hands they can give you some extra time. Hope you get it sorted. We are disputing whose fault going over the start date is. we made a variation to our floor plan the day we signed the contract and were told this would take 1-2 weeks to receive. We didn’t receive this until more than 2 months after signing our contract. This ended up being 1-2 weeks prior to our start date. Our bank also would not release any funds (initial deposit) to Coral until they had received the variation as it made a significant change to the build price and would need their team to verify changes. Anyway the initial deposit was made once we received the variation. We are now being told by Coral that because this payment was late that is why we aren’t on site. Even though they took over 2 months to finalise our floor plans which we would have needed to complete colours, tiles, electrical, covenant and council approval. So with the 1-2 weeks left over there is no way we would have have made it to site on the proposed start date. Just so frustrated with how slow their admin process has been. Unfortunately I think they will be taking the other option in the contract where they can calculate their own “reasonable” damages 😞 Re: Coral Homes general build thread 10317Jan 11, 2018 11:01 pm kikihome Cape Hi does anyone have an idea what Coral charges you daily/weekly for going over your proposed start date? Kiki, do you end up over your start date? If so was this what you were charged? If so was this what you were charged?
We had a giant battle with them about it because our sales consultant knew our situation before we signed our contract, we left without signing it because we didnt want to commit to a start date. He then talked us into signing it and said that if we went over the date, hed make sure we got looked after and even said that coral arent they type of company to throw the contract back in your face. When it came time for him to "look after us," he didnt help at all and flat out ignored us. I was ropable over it. The only thing we worked out with them in the end was to have our fees reduced from $340 per week to $750 per month. Your situation sounds a lot different though and is caused by them, so i don't think you should have to pay a cent! http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=84825 Coral - Marcoola 32
Funnily enough we explained the situation to our sales consultant too that we would need the variation before making payment. He told us that the variation would take 2 weeks at the most to complete and therefore we signed the contract. We are waiting to speak to a manager at head office today Re: Coral Homes general build thread 10320Jan 16, 2018 5:59 pm viewtopic.php?f=31&t=90769 above is our forum, does anyone have photo or esperience with the newport 19 build with coral homes, any tips/tricks to look out for our home is being built this year, starting march 2018 You should check your detail drawings, it may show downpipe within brick pier. 14 14078 Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck.
