Yep!!! Can't remember his name but my husband talked to him a bit before tiling was finished. Our island bench is not parallel so he could not finish the kitchen (at that stage). He told us that the SS told him to tile it anyway (the SS told us he would call the kitchen company to get it straightened) hence the tiling was cr@p. There are spaces up to 6-7mm between tiles. All I know id that he drives a reddish/browny ute. His daughter is his apprentice and his son labours with him. The tiling on the balcony and bathrooms is also not the best but we did not pick up on this until we moved in...should have known better... It just helps to know what to look for as it's quite overwhelming. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 10292Jan 10, 2018 10:35 pm I am officially over this build with Coral Homes. We have received our millionth lie and we are done. During our council application we were advised we had to change the driveway and so if the allowance went over we had to pay for it but if it was under it would mean a credit. This was the email from our CS at Coral “Council will not allow your driveway that close to the Sewer Manhole. Your options could be organising, paying and timeframes for moving this, alternatively, we could reposition it slight to the right to comply. Please see the blue lines which show the proposed below and advise as soon as possible if we can proceed with that change. There will be no Admin fee for this change and I can have it done immediately. The draftsperson advised if the square metres change there could be a very very slight credit or charge.” Note that is says there would be a credit. Now I have been through our New CS and State manager and they deny the credit is owed, despite all my email records. They have ripped us off for the last time leaving us thousands out of pocket for a product we did not receive. Don’t get caught our like we have been, take care of your homes everyone. Go to the National Manager or just straight to Fair Trading. The State Managers aren’t much chop unfortunately! I’m really sorry to hear you’re having these troubles. Thank you for the advice I will call around and see what I can do. Coral told us the same so we did our driveway after handover. The sewer manhole sits in the middle and most companies don't have trouble doing this. Send screen shots to the office showing you have evidence that they agreed to a credit. They will back down. Fingers crossed that this ordeal will soon be over! They are so untrustworthy they should know at time of application and approval if anything extra was needed in the allowance. You can ask them proof of invoice to make sure the coating is correct. And add their 20% profit on top they have to prove to you just as much as we seem to have to continuously prove to them. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 10297Jan 11, 2018 7:20 am Unfortunately I have sent them the emails with the word for word commitment by my CS and they have denied they owe us anything. They are so wrong and arrogant about it. This is why they never amended it back when it all happened because they think people will forget about it and they score the money. Have they given you a reason as to why they don't owe it to you??? They claim it was an allowance and that we used 45m2 of the 55m2 so we aren’t owed anything but we would have paid a variation of the allowance went over 55m2. We have an email saying a slight credit or charge may happen if we don’t use the 55m2 or go over but now they won’t stand by that. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 10300Jan 11, 2018 7:54 am I see what you mean. We have encounted the same wording regarding so called 'allowances' and we are talking $$$'s ... temporary downpipes, road closures, electricity line shields (whatever they're called) all for which we were charged but they never did. Get Fair Trading involved since you have already approached Coral. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 14180 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 4376 |
